Manager of Sports Partnerships
Job Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Manager of Sports Partnerships will manage relationships between MGM Resorts, sports leagues, and teams to build and execute key sports initiatives which may include new event development, brand, media, and social content strategy and implementation, loyalty marketing programs and sports betting integration. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices and procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Negotiates and maintains relationships with major US sports leagues, teams and athletes and key international leagues and federations (i.e. FIFA, USOC).
- Develops strategic plan for the implementation and optimization of sponsorships.
- Partners with the Sports Activation Team to facilitate events, VIP experiences, and consumer-facing activations.
- Collaborates with Interactive Gaming team and BetMGM to optimize sports betting initiatives via partnership assets.
- Partners with internal and external stakeholders to optimize brand, media, social and loyalty integration to deliver on corporate objectives.
- Maintains tracking, reporting, performance, and budget.
- Understands contract terms to ensure execution of key initiatives by MGM Resorts and teams and leagues.
- Remains relevant and knowledgeable in the sports industry and maintain internal reporting and communication cadence.
- Perform other job related duties as requested.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 1 + year of experience in corporate partnerships, partner activation, sports management, or prior relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business or related field, or equivalent experience.
PREFERRED:
- Experience working in partnership management for a sports league, team, or organization.
- Experience in brand development and social media content strategy.
- Project management experience.
- Experience with ticket/hospitality management programs (I.e. InviteManager) and asset management systems (I.e. KORE).
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

- Experience in contract negotiations.
- Strong financial and budgetary acumen.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills for internal and external audiences.
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
