We have operations in Saint Louis, Missouri, Huntington Beach, California, and Milford, Connecticut, serving local, national and international customers, both military and commercial. The company supplies platform controls, aircraft components, liquid oxygen equipment, and emergency breathing equipment to its customers.

Position Summary:

Manage, direct and supervise all aspects of the engineering tasks relative to the products, parts, systems and components that are non-new product development.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support production, purchasing and quality departments on engineering changes or issue with the products.

• Support sales and customer care department on technical questions and product support.

• Responsible for generating and revising technical documents such as drawings, engineering reports, test forms and test procedures.

• Product development of items that are based on existing products where a full development cycle is not required.

• Support the CAR Team on production corrective actions and product improvements.

• Conduct customer training, both internally and externally.

• Troubleshooting assembly and testing production issues.

• Reviewing and updating legacy product to the latest specifications.

• Redrawing in CAD and releasing to production old hand sketches and drawings.

• Responsible for the document control area and the distribution of controlled documents.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to other engineers.

• Prepare, review, and approve technical drawings and documents.

• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines.

• Provide the delegation of signatory authority to direct reports for preparing and/or approving technical drawings and documents.

• Responsible for ensuring all direct reports have been training to the most current engineering policies and procedures.

Requirements

Required Education/ Qualifications:

BS in Engineering and a minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in engineering management and working in a related market or industry.

Required Skills:

  • Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals or professional journals. Ability to write business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, and customers.
  • Math Ability: Engineering math skills should include the ability to perform engineering analysis for product durability, fit, and performance.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of ERP software; Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; SolidWorks and/or CAE software, and Internet software. Aptitude for learning new technology or techniques is a must.
  • Work Environment: Quiet to moderate noise in typical office environment with both private offices and cubicles.
  • Physical Demands: Needs to be able to work in office environment and laboratory environment: sit, operate computer terminal, answer phone, physical labor necessary for laboratory activities.
