The Elevator Pitch

 Do you have a strong knowledge of technical accounting? Are you experienced in supporting complex accounting transactions?

Evolv is looking for an experienced Manager of Technical Accounting to join the team to support the Senior Director of SEC Reporting in accounting research and documentation, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of our 10-Qs and 10-Ks, and implementation of SOX 404(b) and public reporting requirements.

Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

 In the first 30 days, you will:

· Familiarize yourself with our 10-Q and 10-K's

· Read our existing memos

· Meet with the team to understand NetSuite and how we record transactions

· Meet with the Internal Audit team and familiarize yourself with our control narratives

 Within 3 months, you will:

· Be updating existing memos based on current status

· Support 10-Q and 10-K reporting by completing the disclosure checklist

· Along with your manager, meet with the heads of R&D to review current capitalizable software projects

· Own various key controls and ensure they are completed in a timely manner with appropriate documentation

 By the end of the first year, you will:

· Fully own updating all existing memos

· Fully own capitalized software; ensuring any new projects are added, make sure we begin amortizing existing capitalized projects at the right time, research accounting questions, and propose the accounting solution

· Own portions of the 10-Q's and 10-K as assigned by your manager

· Own various financial reporting key controls and be integral to receiving a clean audit opinion on both our financial statements and internal controls

· Be able to take on ad hoc projects and tasks as requested



The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

 Technical Accounting

· Have a strong knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and apply it to Evolv’s specific situations

· Perform accounting research and prepare technical accounting memos for complex matters, including but not limited to revenue recognition, lease accounting, stock compensation, capitalized software, and one-off transactions/contracts as they arise

· Review new accounting standards and SEC guidance, perform an impact analysis to determine how they apply to Evolv, and manage Evolv’s implementation of the new standard/guidance

 Financial Acumen

· Have a strong understanding of public company reporting

· Hold a degree in accounting and have 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably with experience in public accounting

· A CPA is required for this role

 Reporting

· Ensure accurate and timely public reporting such as 10-Qs and 10-Ks with no restatements or revisions

· Innovate and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of Evolv’s reporting processes

· Experience with NetSuite and Workiva is preferred

 Team Engagement

· Be actively engaged with the team and be seen as subject matter expert in areas

· Develop strong cross-functional relationships with FP&A, Legal, HR, R&D, and other departments within Evolv to facilitate information sharing and ensure proper accounting for transactions

· Support the team as a whole

· You will be joining the growing Finance and Accounting team. This role reports to the Senior Director of SEC Reporting.

Where is the role located?

· This role is based out of our HQ in Waltham, MA with some flexibility in being remote some days.

What is the salary range?

The base salary range for this full-time position is $112-160,000k + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
