Manager- Operations Analytics
Job Description
The Manager- Operations Analytics will report directly to Director of Business Planning & Analysis, with a strong dotted line to VP, Operations and will lead the activities of analyzing all relevant data in US government Patent application and related trends and statistics to determine near term and strategic assumptions around industry volume growth including related statistics that would influence the development of a capacity plan. This position works closely with Operations leadership in each major Patent phase of US Patent work including Front end processing, PreGrant and Grant to develop, assign, monitor and report against all production/ productivity targets. Participates in production optimization projects and plays a critical role in the Strategy and planning process to implement product plans that will meeting volume requirements and all USPTO SLA deliverables while ensuring production resource allocation in the most efficient and cost optimized approach possible. This position will also be responsible for working with all sub contactor and home worker labor pools in ensuring optimized capacity and production efficiency in the production planning process.
Plan and control all scheduling activities supporting assigned labor pools. Balance production and capacity levels with demand to support volume targets consistent with 100% customer service levels, capacity utilization/staffing requirements. Communicates with management on production progress. Makes and communicates production plan adjustments, as necessary. Provides other support to production and management as required.
Updates and maintains a rolling Master Production Schedules for finished goods and component items based on capacity requirements. Lead efforts to install standard processes for the Master Productions Scheduling function in accordance with ERP methodology.
Develops, maintains, enhances, and reports against all USPTO operations KPIs, reports, and business processes to ensure continuous improvements and reduction of non-value-added activities. Develops effective countermeasures for recovery for metrics that are not on track.
Oversee production planning and management activities within the organization.
Analyzes USPTO r forecast and release data to support effective financial, capacity, and labor planning activities as well as identifies potential current and future constraints.
Evaluates and reports significant Variances from forecast, identifies root causes, and initiates corrective actions for all production discrepancies.
Supervises 1-2 Production/ Capacity analysts and determines the work responsibilities and evaluates their performance.
Job Requirements for the Planning/ Capacity Manager in preferred in the Philadelphia Pa. area but remote employment is the US is possible
Must be US Citizen or in the process to obtain US citizenship. Must have a university or college degree, preferably in a manufacturing, supply chain, or business-related field. Equivalent years of experience would be considered as alternate.
8- 10 year's related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong consultative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal/communication and presentation skills
Strong proven hands-on leadership skills, ability to mentor, coach, and motivate staff and all team members
Lean manufacturing working knowledge of principles and tools
Exceptional MS Office working knowledge, primarily excel. Ability to develop effective forms, procedures, process flows, spreadsheets, analytical reports and metrics.
Experience in US Government contacts and Patent Fulfillment operations is a plus.
Experience in production and capacity planning and scheduling is required.
