Manager, Pass Through Consulting/WNT Summary:

Manager, Partnerships, Washington National Tax

Understanding the impact of existing tax laws is hard enough, and new legislation, judicial decisions and administrative authority compound the challenges. Professionals in RSM's Washington National Tax (WNT) office advise clients and RSM client engagement teams with respect to complex issues across a wide range of tax specialty practice areas. WNT is seeking an experienced Subchapter K professional to join the Pass-through consulting group (PCG).

In this role, you will work in concert with our pass-through experts in the field, local offices, and M&A teams to assist our clients with transactions, lead internal and external trainings, and develop and deploy forward looking internal and go-to-market solutions that help RSM lead in the middle market. There are opportunities for client contact, and interaction with leading members of the legal and accounting professions representing other parties in our clients' transactions, and government officials charged with interpreting the law.

The Role:

• Work with and assist other members of the national Pass-through Consulting Tax practice with various technical tax issues.
• Draft tax opinions on partnership technical issues
• Managing multiple engagements simultaneously and working with all PCG colleagues across the enterprise
• Analyze and review new rulings, regulations and court decisions and provide written analysis of these changes
• Consult with clients and client engagement teams on federal tax issues related to partnerships
• Develop, motivate, and train staff
• Research, address, and consult on issues specific to partnerships and prepare related written communications.
• Train others in the firm on technical issues pertaining to partnerships

Qualifications:

• Five or more years focused in pass-through taxation
• Industry specialization preferred, but not required
• Experience with trust taxation beneficial
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field required; advanced degree preferred (e.g., MST or JD)
• CPA, enrolled agent, or other appropriate certification required
• Strong research and communication skills (both written and oral)
• Strong executive presence and ability to participate in strategic planning initiatives
• Strong project management, leadership, and client interaction skills
• Highly disciplined and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
