A little about the role…

As the Manager of Platform Engineering, you will be responsible for leading platform development and DevOps activities for our industry leading SaaS solution. You are an experienced engineer who will lead a team delivering platform upgrades and automation that will lead to an improved developer and operations culture working with our platform. You will lead evolving our platform and optimize our cloud infrastructure for stability, performance, and security.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead a team of highly performing Software, DevOps, and Data Engineers in a hands-on contributing role
  • Lead the delivery of platform infrastructure incl. developer productivity tools and processes
  • Manage the intake and delivery of the Platform Team’s work
  • Support product teams and build the bridge between Development and Operations, assist in roadmap planning
  • Automate and improve development, build, testing, and release processes
  • Collaborate with Security & Compliance and IT Infrastructure teams to ensure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
  • Constantly monitor platform operations and ensure there is 24/7 coverage for the platform through extensive monitoring systems and on-call rotations
  • Manage ITIL-based incident/problem/change management processes for the platform

Requirements

Our Ideal Candidate will have…

  • Experience working in an environment that executes Scrum andKanban frameworks for realizing Agile values and principles.
  • Experience with formalized Agile processes (such as SAFe) and ITILprocesses
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence and the Atlassian suite overall
  • Experience with AWS technologies: EC2, S3, RDS, Aurora, EKS, ECS, CloudFormation, Route 53, IAM, CloudFront, Managed Kafka/MSK, etc.
  • Experience with IaaS and PaaS solution development and management
  • Experience with Scripting (Python/Bash/etc.)
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails, Redis, Sidekiq
  • Experience with container technology such as Kubernetes
  • Experience with IaaS such as CloudFormation and Terraform
  • Experience with network configuration, VPCs, etc.
  • Experience with Bitbucket and CircleCI CI/CD pipeline solutions
  • Experience with monitoring systems – CloudWatch, New Relic, DPA, etc.

Salary

$160k-$180k DOE

Location

This position is based in our Denver office. We are currently in a flexible hybrid in-office/remote working model based on local COVID-19 health regulations and business needs. Candidates must be willing and able to work from our Denver office a few days a week.
