We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a Professional Affairs Manager, you will be trusted to lead all project management and budget management activities conducted by the Alcon U.S. Vision Care (VC) Professional Affairs group.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Providing project management of National, Regional, and State optometric conferences collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to innovatively maximize sponsorship benefits, Share of Voice (SOV), on-time deliverables, and oversight to the Cyber Grants approval process.
  • Managing the Professional Affairs department budget.
  • Processing all Purchase Orders and payments for vendors.
  • Tracking VC spend through collaboration with Professional Affairs department colleagues, Meetings & Conventions team, and the BPA Finance groups.
  • Serving as the Professional Affairs primary contact with staff at professional associations, third party vendors, and partner agencies.
  • Managing the creation and maintenance of SOPs for all Professional Affairs department processes and policies.
  • Partnering with cross-functional team supporting the development and MAP review of Professional Affairs educational, communications, and promotional materials.
  • Maintaining a library of MAP approved materials while monitoring expiration dates and managing re-approvals as needed.
  • Collaborating with VC business partners to prepare monthly and other specialized reports, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Elevating Professional Affairs department awareness internally and externally.
  • Ensuring department adherence to all applicable Compliance, Privacy, and other applicable processes and guidelines
  • Communicating with internal and external conference and professional association stakeholders and developing dashboards to ensure on-time delivery and execution of budget matters, as well as strategic assets and programs.
  • Maximizing share of voice at conferences by identifying innovative ways to elevate the Alcon image.
  • Effectively communicating with vendors regarding the creation of Purchase Orders through valid and approved SOW's ensuring compliant contracting, engagement, and payment process.
  • Successfully identifying, implementing, and preparing Professional Affairs KPI measures.
  • Proactively identifying efficiencies in department processes that maintain or improve quality and efficiency.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs;
  • Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 5 years working experience with significant independent project & budget management experience
  • Project Management Certified and/or MBA preferred
  • Evidence of strong working relationship with vendors
  • Strong solid working knowledge of the SAP/ Procurement and reporting system
  • Excellent interpersonal skill set ability to effectively communicate across functions
  • Solid understanding of finance process, marketing concepts and business priorities
  • Strong track record of being a team player
  • Demonstrates a can-do, goal-oriented, entrepreneurial spirit that embraces performance, accountability, teamwork, management credibility and success
