Manager, Revenue Cycle- Billing
Job Description
Within Surgical Notes RCM, our teammates play a critical role. The Manager, Revenue Cycle-Billing will oversee, enhance, and maintain a properly functioning revenue cycle process through staff development, work integrity and team performance. The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for managing a team of Medical Collectors / Accounts Receivable Representatives to effectively oversee revenue cycle operations for one or more clients. This role is responsible to meet or exceed revenue, metrics and objective goals established for the department. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The perfect candidate will have an understanding of various insurance carriers, including; Medicare, Medicaid, Workers’ Compensation, Personal Injury, HMOs, contracted and non-contracted plans. The candidate should be able to recognize issues and effectively resolve them as well as communicate all issues to the Account Manager. This position will require the reporting of all ASC KPI metrics to the Account Manager and Vice President and will be accountable for the adherence of strict metrics. You will be required to work independently, resolve issues with a plan of resolution, and report any delays or issues.Â

Duties/Responsibilities:Â
- Provide optimal customer service to both our clients and internal teamÂ
- Track and communicate billing kpisÂ
- Meet tight deadlinesÂ
- Demonstrate a high level of commitment to customer service in responding to the needs of internal and external parties or departmentsÂ
- Review billing for clients by reviewing and resolving billing queries, confirming the billing team resolved the answers to previous days’ queries, QA for problematic/high priority cases for charges entered, HST hard post transactions, submission of posted charges via Waystar, paper/Waystar, paper/non Waystar, and FaxÂ
- Manage Waystar rejections and fix COB errorsÂ
- Ensure billing rules are kept current and followedÂ
- Reconcile unbilled cases against PAS on a minimum of a weekly basisÂ
- Complete end of month dutiesÂ
- Review the unbilled report by sharing the client unbilled report weekly and review the unbilled report daily for discrepancies or issuesÂ
- Responsible for the forward to billing queue weekly.Â
- Maintaining regular open communication with coding department Â
- Maintain communication and escalate issues as needed to Senior ManagerÂ
- Other responsibilities as assignedÂ

- Remote: The minimum bandwidth requirements are 10 Mbps upload and 50 Mbps download speeds. The recommended bandwidth requirements are 20 Mbps upload and 100 Mbps download speeds.Â
Job RequirementsÂ
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Education:Â
- High school diploma or equivalentÂ
- 3 years of experience in ASC, Hospital management, or with other healthcare provider revenue cycle operationsÂ
- 3 years of management experience in revenue cycle managing either people or projectsÂ
- 3 years of experience in billingÂ
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT code, EOBs, financial reports, state and payer specific rulesÂ
- Understanding of HIPAA regulationsÂ
- Working knowledge of all major payers including Workers’ Compensation and AutoÂ
- Ability to work under pressure while successfully meeting deadlinesÂ
- A positive, open and friendly attitude to colleagues and clientsÂ
- Excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills requiredÂ
- Superior customer service and professionalismÂ
- Research capabilities when confronted with an issueÂ
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skillsÂ

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & EducationÂ
- Associate's Degree in Healthcare Management, Business Management or related field Â
- Experience working in the majority of the following Practice Management Systems: Amkai, HST, SIS, Advantx, Vision, EPIC Resolute, etc. Â
- Experience with Accounts Receivable in an ASCÂ Â
- Strong Microsoft Office skills in Excel, Outlook, and TeamsÂ
