Exciting opportunity to lead a team of Risk Management professionals in the identification and quantification of risk. The Manager, Risk Management will motivate staff to mitigate risk while contributing to the overall strategy, goals, and objectives of the Company.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Develop and facilitate client relationships.
- Sustains a small book of business.
- Establishes relationships with producers and agents including sustaining those contacts to strengthen company relations.
- Promotes company and safety services to producers and agents.
Contributes to the department operational success and processes.
- Contributes in monitoring fee company vendors to ensure quality reports and cost-effective operations.
- Ensures regulatory compliance for department in all states where the organization conducts business.
- Partners with various departments across an organizational matrix to ensure successful customer servicing of accounts.
Delivers professional risk management services to organizations' clients.
- Analyzes customer current risks identifying potential risks impacting company.
- Prepares training material to correspond to customer's risk assessment.
- Educates the customer to the most significant risks to the business, ensuring understanding and possibly mitigating risks.
Manage a professional team within the WCU Risk Management unit.
- Establishes and maintains the overall work cadence and ensures performance and outcomes strive for excellence in delivery and customer experience.
- Establishes hiring criteria, on-boarding and training requirements for incoming staff.
- Oversees the performance management and development process for the department and performs performance management duties, development planning and coaching for direct reports.
- Acts as a resource for Risk Management team members to answer questions and solve complex problems.
- Manages department budget, technology and other resources, workload and customer requests for Risk Management. Ensures adherence to all Company policies and procedures and compliance responsibilities.
- Ensures data quality, adherence to company security guidelines, profitability and other risk-related metrics for self and members of the team.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly supervises 8 or more employees in a team and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- These responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; conducting performance and salary reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Coaching, mentoring, and developing team members to further their skills and knowledge; creating and monitoring development plans; setting performance expectations/goals; forecasting staffing needs and planning for peak times and absences; enforcing department policies and procedures.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university: Business Administration, Management or related degree, preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of related experience and/or training; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years leading, managing and mentoring a team.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- CSP, CIH, CPE, CPCU or other Master's Level designation preferred.
- In absence of Master's level designation, ARM, ALCM or Bachelor's level designation required.
- Valid, current driver's license is required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Solid working knowledge in risk management.
- Ability to lead, manage and mentor a team. Excellent verbal communication skills and leadership skills with specific successes. Superior organizational and time management skills.
- Advanced level consulting and understanding of advanced risk management concepts. Microsoft Office 2013 including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information including codes and regulations. Ability to respond to complex inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to compute rate, loss ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
COMPENSATION
The salary range listed for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at ICW Group, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and/or education. In addition, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer. We typically do not hire at the maximum of the range in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a substantial benefits package outlined below.
