This role offers a high-impact opportunity to lead and develop a team of Sales Engineers responsible for driving software and SaaS revenue through technical expertise and customer engagement. You will manage, mentor, and train your team while personally engaging with partners, prospects, and customers to deliver innovative solutions. The position requires a strategic thinker who can align technical resources with business objectives, implement process improvements, and enable sales success across a dynamic territory. You will collaborate closely with sales leadership, oversee pre-sales strategy, and ensure your team consistently meets or exceeds pipeline, opportunity, and quota targets. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment and is passionate about driving technical excellence.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the Sales Engineering team, fostering a high-performing, accountable, and collaborative culture
  • Drive account planning, pipeline development, and opportunity management, ensuring alignment between technical and sales strategies
  • Partner with sales and regional leadership to formulate go-to-market strategies and maximize partner and customer engagement
  • Perform and mentor technical discovery to identify key business, operational, and technical challenges and propose effective solutions
  • Demonstrate and communicate the value of products and solutions through presentations, proof-of-concepts, and executive briefings
  • Hire, train, and develop team members, building competencies in solution architecture, competitive positioning, and technical customer success
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings to guide team strategy and solution positioning
  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, support, and development) to ensure customer success during campaigns and deployments

  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent experience (MBA or MS a plus)
    • 5+ years of experience managing pre-sales Sales Engineers or technical solution teams
    • 5+ years in the software, SaaS, or data management industry
    • Experience working with channel partners and driving partner-led sales initiatives
    • Strong technical proficiency across enterprise software, infrastructure, SaaS, and cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Linux, Oracle, Exchange, SQL Server)
    • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop technical teams while driving measurable results
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including social media engagement
    • Proven ability to solve complex technical and business problems and deliver solutions aligned with customer needs
    • Willingness to travel up to 30% within the assigned territory
