Manager, Sales I
Job Description
Position Purpose: The Manager of Sales I provides daily management of the Sales Representatives assigned to a designated region. In conjunction with the Director of Sales, develops a comprehensive sales strategy/marketing plan to maximize membership growth in specific market segments. Maintains and constantly improves products' competitive positions to achieve growth targets.
Develops market-specific sales plans to maximize enrollment growth primarily in State Products (Medi-Cal, Healthy Families) with incremental accountability for selected commercial products including Individual & Family Products (IFP), Salud con Health Net, and Small Business Group (SBG).
Manages and tracks effectiveness of Community Relations and Outreach team for specific geographic segment. Provides leadership for the team and coaching for individual team members for performance development.
Implements marketing strategies for specific geographic segment.
Develops provider-specific marketing plans to attain membership growth in designated provider groups.
Manages and tracks all sales distribution (direct, brokerage, telemarketing, community based organizations, indirect or commercial endorsement) within assigned geographic segments.
Manages the sales training and incentive programs to support targeted sales for specific geographic segments within emerging markets.
Implements Human Resource guidelines including hiring, goal setting, performance evaluations, salary administration, and affirmative action. Ensures department compliance to Company policies, procedures and government regulations.
Interfaces with targeted community leadership to impact sales growth within specific geographic segment.
Responsible for account management programs training to support multicultural sales and marketing and community relations.
Interfaces with internal departments/Associates to ensure alignment and consistency in working toward targeted goals.
Completes assigned business projects/deliverables as needed within specified time frame.
Travel 70% - Macon, GA to include South of Macon (43 Counties)
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Minimum five years relevant experience, including two to three years experience managing a sales staff involving multiple locations. Experience working with the uninsured, under-insured or under-served populations
License/Certification: California Life and Health Agent's License required
