Manager, Security Engineering & Operations
Job Description
Job Summary:
The Manager, Security Engineering & Operations is responsible for leading an inclusive team that designs, configures, implements, and maintains security solutions and systems to ensure the organization's information assets are protected. This role will collaborate with Information Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit, and other internal groups to ensure compliance with all applicable security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Additionally, this role will oversee the daily operations of key information security systems and ensure their uptime, reliability, and effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the design, configuration, implementation, and operation of the organization's security solutions
- Review new and existing technologies to determine compliance with security standards and regulations
- Assist in assuring compliance with all security related regulatory requirements
- Implement information security processes and technology to address vulnerabilities and external trending events
- Manage the vulnerability & patch management program
- Hire, develop, lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of Security Engineers
- Manage and monitor performance of third-party security services providers
- Direct the evaluation, design, documentation, testing, and deployment of new security solutions and enhancements to existing security solutions in accordance with standard best security practices and enterprise security requirements
- Ensures that information security processes and technologies are fully and appropriately utilized
- Assess proposed solution architecture specifications and change requests to ensure alignment with defined security standards
- Verify delivered technical solutions against previously approved security architecture specifications and change requests
- Remain current with advancements in information security processes and technologies,
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Development and Infrastructure teams regarding security practices
- Partner with Incident Response during information security investigations, and Governance, Risk & Compliance for risk assessments
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of Information Security experience
- Prior supervisory experience and strong understanding of inclusive relationships and team building
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field
- Holds and maintains Information Security Certification
- Excellent organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with people at all levels of the organization
- Familiarity with relevant industry frameworks, standards, and associated compliance regulations, such as NIST CSF, ITIL, and applicable laws related to information security and privacy
