Position summary: The Manager, SEO will lead a small team focused on transforming search engine optimization (SEO) into a data-driven practice. The person in this position will have deep experience in all aspect of SEO best practices, including technical, keyword research, and local. In addition, the person will bring expertise with data analysis and a vision for how data can direct SEO decision-making.

Job Duties(the following are essential accountabilities):
  • Understanding business objectives and developing analytical solutions that help achieve them, along with metrics to track their progress.
  • Data mining, analyzing data, and developing analytical models using best-practices-based methods and state-of-the-art tools.
  • Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems.
  • Performing exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, insights, and opportunities.
  • Defining SEO strategy with an eye for quick wins and long-term best practice methodology.
  • Working with editorial and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation and content programming.
  • Advising, collaborating, and working cross-functionally with business stakeholders, designers, and dev to ensure SEO best practices are active in every project.
  • Performing keyword research.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of latest trends and best practices in SEO, SEM, and PPC.
  • Compile and present SEO reports on activities and outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or four or more years of work experience.
  • Minimum Experience:
    • Five or more years of relevant work experience.
    • Experience with natural/organic search engine optimization.
    • Experience in quantifying marketing impact and SEO performance.
    • Deep experience with web analytics software, keyword research tools, and content management systems.
  • Special Skills: Advanced proficiency with Google Analytics and/or Adobe Analytics. Expert proficiency with Google Search Console and Google Data Studio. Strong proficiency with SEO tools, such as SEMRush, aHrefs, Botify, Screaming Frog, etc. Expert understanding of the search engine industry and SEO best practices. Highly responsive and proactive, supportive of team and partners. Proven ability to work and interact with multiple stakeholder groups and agencies/vendors. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Experience using data to balance organic and paid search.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred Experience: Hands-on experience running automated jobs to manipulate and store data via APIs for Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, etc. Experience in project management and working cross-functionally to accomplish business goals. Proven record of achieving SEO results on high traffic, relevant search engine keyword searches. Experience in website production process.
  • Preferred Certification/ License: Google Analytics Certification
