Manager, Services Sales Operations
Job Description
Introduction:
The Services Sales Operations Manager position is responsible for multiple operational and financial aspects with the professional and managed services organization. This role will report directly to the Director of Services Operations and work with internal stakeholders to produce financial forecasts, modeling, and reporting. This role will manage the processing of client contracts, ensure revenue is recognized correctly, business controls, audit requests as well as assisting with Services monthly forecasts; key operational metrics; and other financial analyses. Additionally, this role works collaboratively across many internal cross functional teams to drive the TGCS business goals and reviews outstanding issues on a regular basis with these cross functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Services Contract processing - Managing the Sales Operations team whose primary focus is to process client contracts and ensure the contracts are set up accurately in Oracle to ensure accurate revenue recognition as well as an accurate financial view of the project performance.
- Forecasting / Financial Analyses - Assist with the production of financial forecasts for the Services organization and provide monthly financial reports and variance analyses. By working with the owners of the forecast inputs, this position will be responsible to ensure the forecast is maintained and submitted by the deadlines. Working closely with the key stakeholders, forecast variances are understood and communicated to management. Provide useful financial insights, guidance and analysis to executive and operational management to improve results. Prepare a variety of ad hoc financial / operational scenarios as requested
- Operations Key Metrics - Development & Reporting - Assist with determining and report upon benchmarks against which to measure organizational performance. Assist in providing Operational Metrics for management review and discussions on variances.
- Operation Processes / Procedures - Build upon current processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. Focus on automation by using current tools and reduce the amount of manual spreadsheet efforts. Create process documentation, training of processes, and process improvement initiatives to improve the overall Services Delivery. Electronically store all pertinent documentation (forecasts, cost rate development, budget inputs, etc. in approved repository for archiving / audit purposes.
- Services Reporting / Management Reviews - Assist in the annual budget process for the Services organization. Hold cross functional team meetings to review forecast inputs / results with Services Delivery management, project managers, Accounting, and / or IT. Document assumptions and identify issues / action plans for improvement / resolution.
- Investigate issues working across multiple functional teams (Finance / Accounting, Warranty, IT, Procurement, Services Delivery, etc.) and collaborate to determine resolutions and drive actions to completion.
- Oracle Projects / Workday Adaptive Insights / FinancialForce / OBIEE - Drive enhancements & process improvements. Assist with driving efficiencies with Oracle modules to accurately & timely record Services transactions. Assist with deploying FinancialForce across the Services organization to improve forecasting / financial modelling
- Perform other related duties as required
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience processing service contracts.
- 2+ years of experience managing people.
- Experience in processing Services client contracts and understanding basic revenue recognition concepts
- Experience in Professional / Managed Services a plus
- Experience with forecasting revenue and cost and understanding basic financial transactions
- Partner with department leaders to review strategies and initiatives based on budget
- Tackle ad hoc financial projects and diligence activities as they arise
- Build and maintain the Service's budget and forecasts along with variance analyses
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office - advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
- Workday / Adaptive Insights / FinancialForce knowledge a plus
- Pro-active; hands-on individual who will own, in partnership with the Operations Director, responsibility for the Services Operations area.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with others, both internally and externally
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to prepare presentations and interacting with higher leadership in making decisions based on budgets and goals
- Team player that works well with others and collaborates with other organizations
- Have a deep understanding of Services organization, financial forecasting, and operations deliverables
- Time management skills, with the ability to perform multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality. Overtime is required to meet critical deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload, complex tasks and issues as required
- Self-motivated, self-confident and able to handle peaks of workload
- Attention to details a must; problem solving / analytical skills which identify root cause as well as solution proposals required
Preferred Skills:
- Oracle experience (Oracle R12 - Projects, and other modules)
- Accounting skills/background
