The Manager will lead the on-going execution, improvement, and sustainability of the Breeze Airways Safety Management System (SMS) and Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP). The Manager will drive safety process innovation to ensure the system for capturing safety risk is robust and proactive to avoid negative outcomes.
Here’s what you’ll do- Lead the sustainability, improvement, and compliance of the Breeze Airways Safety Management System (SMS)
- Create system for robust analysis of safety performance and ensure effective visibility to mitigation efforts
- Lead SMS Promotion to include owning the ASAP newsletters and Breeze Airways Safety Newsletter to ensure trends are communicated with team members
- Lead and facilitate cross-divisional safety risk management (SRM) reviews
- Advise, support, and facilitate SMS management review boards, to include the Weekly Safety Review (WSR) and company Safety Review Board (SRB)
- Support and consult Internal Evaluation Program on safety risks through regular updates with Audit Program leadership
- Oversee the Breeze Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP), which managing the policies, running Event Review Committees (ERCs), monitoring and reporting trends into the SMS, and ensuring continuous improvement of this critical safety program
- Ensure the SMS is fully implemented and integrated throughout the organization
- Oversee the Vistair SMS Information System for Breeze and service as the primary company point of contact for all continuous improvement efforts
- Partner with all operating divisions to educate, inform, train and implement safety policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as required by the VP Safety, Security, Environmental
- Regularly brief the VP Safety and Accountable Executive on SMS performance trends
- Achieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in conjunction with the Breeze Airways values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity, and Excellence
- 4-year degree from an accredited university
- 4+ years’ experience in Aviation, Airline Management, Safety Management Systems, or Aviation Safety Action Programs (ASAP)
- Leadership experience
- High performance orientation, ability to work well under pressure, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Complete projects on time with minimal supervision, ability to work varied hours when necessary to meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and an outstanding ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
- 3+ years leadership experience
- Experience with Vistair
- FAA license/certificate for Dispatch, A&P, or Pilot
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with individuals and teams at all levels in the organization
