Manager, Software Engineering
Job Description
We are looking to fill a key role within the JackPot Party Slots Casino engineering team – a Software Engineering Manager who will lead and manage our Unity client team, focusing on growing the existing engineers and establishing best practices.Â
This role will be located onsite in our Cedar Falls, IA studio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of client engineersÂ
- Collaborate with Engineering management on the strategy and vision for the client, as well as the product as a wholeÂ
- Participate heavily within early feature development, including product specification review, estimate and high level technical designÂ
- Establish and maintain best practices for client developmentÂ
- Collaborate with other game teams and central teams within SciPlay on best practices for client developmentÂ
- Participate in feature development as neededÂ
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Math, Statistics or relevant area or equivalent experienceÂ
Required Experience:Â
- 8+ years of software development experienceÂ
- 3+ years Management experienceÂ
- Expertise with game client development – ideally with a focus on Unity and C#Â
- Strong problem solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skillsÂ
- Strong communication skillsÂ
Preferred Experience:
- Social game development.Â
- iOS and Android development experience.Â
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Â
- Proven ability to take direction and work with minimal supervisionÂ
- Proven ability to work in deadline driven environmentÂ
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneouslyÂ
- Excellent written and verbal communication skillsÂ
