Manager, Software Engineering
Reports to: Chief Technology Officer
Suvoda is a global clinical trial technology company shaping digital experiences that enable clinical trial sponsor and site professionals to take full command over the inherent logistical complexity behind mission-critical and time-sensitive patient interactions in life-sustaining studies for therapeutic areas such as oncology, central nervous system, and rare disease.
Supporting clinical trials means supporting unique experiments that are inherently complex, high-stakes, and dynamic. It is imperative that Suvoda staff working with clients, end-users, or the systems that client and end-users interact with understand the clinical trial industry, regulations, Suvoda’s software products and processes, and especially the specificities of the unique trial in question before taking any actions they may alter the data of the system in question.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of software developers and testers, build, develop, retain, and motivate a high-performing team
- Work with delivery team to establish schedule, track progress, identify and remedy problems, and deliver product releases
- Improve SDLC by suggesting practices that increase team efficiency and effectiveness
- Be the “go-to” person, provide technical direction and business guidance to the team
- Work with product owners to ensure clear product requirements and optimal product designs
- Assist with development tasks, and participates in architecture and design meetings
- Serve as an escalation point for technical issues related to product releases or product development involving the managed team
- Lead and coordinate technology innovation effortsPerform other related duties as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- Strong expertise in C#.Net/SQL or JavaScript and its related technologies, and solid understanding of its inner-workings
- Deep understanding of programming principles
- Demonstrated technical leadership and people supervision skills
- Ability to manage a software engineering team of typical scrum team size and deliver releases of scope that impacts short-term departmental goals
- Experience with agile development
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills, and learning capability
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in software development
- 2+ years of experience in people supervision roles
