We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a HS Manager SoftwareEngineering on our Product Development &Data Ops team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office.

As a This role will work closely with a team of data engineers, dataanalysts, and data scientists to build modern data platform infrastructure,with a primary focus on Data Products accessibility. This role will ownassigned initiatives end to end, conduct multiple projects and process flows tocollect, enrich, and manage the AMA's data. Responsible for producing consistent, accurate, and timely analysis ofmetrics and key performance indicators, scorecards, trending reports that leadto informed business decisions and will work on modern data infrastructure oncloud to build a stronger core for the platform and data access environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Development & Data Analysis

• Lead DataLabs initiatives and collaborate with the wider Health Solutions team to ideate and co-create new concepts and bring them to life.

• Manage initiatives for Product development end to end with responsibilities including roadmap planning, roadmap execution and launch activities.

• Support the overall Health Solutions team through insightful data analysis and development of data platform and analytical reporting, including subject areas of data collection, data quality, business rule adherence, and optimal choice of data fitness.

• Respond to data science and analysis needs of the department and help deliver projects through the appropriate choice of technologies. Develop curated data sets through data transformations and deliver them via APIs. Develop automated testing and processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy of the data, as well as proof of concept matching exercise to vet external data sources and gauge benefit.

Systems, Processes, Initiative Management

• Work with stakeholders to define and prioritize requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

• Develop and implement project plans and timelines to ensure successful delivery.

• Develop and implement processes and tools to support the delivery of data products, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.

• Work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues, ensuring timely resolution.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

• Monitor project progress and report on project status, risks, and issues to senior management.

System Flows, Architecture, and R&D

• Create and collaborate with engineers to implement and test technology solutions across multiple cross-functional teams. Contribute to the adoption of software architecture best practices, and technologies as needed.

• Support the overall effort to modernize and enhance AMA data and software architecture. Assist in development and testing of innovative approaches, including but not limited to Data, AI/ML, and Natural Language Processing (NLP).

• Ensure DataLabs has an eye towards emerging trends working with Lead Engineer and create plans to test out these technologies working with wider engineering group.

Staff Management

• Lead, mentor and provide management oversight for professional staff

• Responsible for setting objectives, evaluating performance and developing/mentoring staff

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

2. Minimum 5+ years of experience in software engineering required

3. Minimum 2+ years of experience in a management role; able to mentor and grow talent.

4. Experience in building modern data and software platform infrastructure, with a primary focus on Data Products accessibility. (Intuitive user access to data incorporating modern UX and design principles).

5. Experience working in an Agile development environment. Excellent collaboration and leadership skills.

6. Progressive experience with software development, data engineering and data design. One or more of the following is desired - Python, Java, NOSQL, Kafka, Presto, Spark/EMR, Elasticsearch, AWS (DynamoDB, RDS, S3, Lambda, Glue, Athena.). Experience with Data modeling/structures.

7. Experience with Node React and Angular desired for web stack of Product development.

8. Experience with cloud-based technologies such as AWS.

9. Excellent knowledge of software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, and automated testing.

10. Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines and resources.

11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
