Manager, Software Engineering, Integrations and API
Job Description
As a Manager of Software Engineering at Ridgeline, you’ll provide technical leadership to teams developing high-quality, creative business applications in a fast-moving, progressive work environment. You’ll think outside the box and add your own vision, passion, and interests to the software development lifecycle.Â

In this role you will work closely with the Engineering, Product Management, and Strategy teams to define and execute the vision to create a delightful experience for internal and 3rd party integration developers. You will deliver market-leading API and integration tooling, cultivate a thriving partner and application ecosystem, and facilitate the expansion of Ridgeline’s delivered integrations.
What will you do?
- Contribute business insight, technical expertise and acumen, and best practices to the data and integration teams where design, strategy, product management, and engineering collaborate closely
- Deliver an integrations service that enables custom and reusable interfaces to popular 3rd party systems in the asset management industry with common integration infrastructure
- Lead the analysis and recommendation of critical Build vs. Buy vs. Partner decisions to ensure a holistic, scalable solution with a long-term view in mind
- Take into account all users and use cases of the data and integration services when making key product and technical decisions
- Have end-to-end responsibility for technical facets and flow of data in a complex system, including the product, infrastructure, security and quality
- Coach, mentor, and manage engineers that are responsible for delivering a high performing, secure enterprise data and integrations service
- Provide leadership for the entire software development process:Â from requirements and design reviews to technology selection and implementation through delivery and support in production
- Engage in career and performance discussions that align business objectives, key results, and career goals
- Leveraging organizational design methodology, manage resource allocations for product engineers and track completion of deliverables for each team
- Impact a developing tech stack based on modern front-end frameworks and cost-efficient utilization of AWS back-end services
- Build a diverse technical team while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment
- Ensure close relationships in a multi-location organization, connecting our product and engineering teams
Preferred skills and experience:
- 3+ years in a software engineering management position or similar function, with a history of architecting and designing new products and technologies in the cloud
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline
- Clear and crisp communicator, and an ability to lead and influence both with and without authority
- Ability to focus on short-term deliverables while maintaining a big-picture perspective
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and architectural patterns
- Experience developing and/or utilizing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), integration and cloud data migration technologies
- Deep understanding of GraphQL and REST API concepts, patterns, and technologies
- Familiarity with API security, governance, observability, and test automation
- Experience with complex data problems and near real-time delivery of changing data
Nice to haves:
- Experience with investment management applications, accounting, and performance data
- Familiarity with embedded integration platforms (Flatfile, Workato, Tray, etc.)
- Comfortable working with Slack, JIRA/Confluence, AWS, UI design tools, and Github
- Accustomed to working in industries with regulatory and compliance requirements including maintaining reliability and consistency of historical data

Compensation and BenefitsÂ

The cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $160,000 - $180,000Â for individuals based in New York and California. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amount listed above.Â
