What will you do at Nomad?

As a key member of Nomad's engineering management team, you will influence the long-term evolution of web technology for the country’s first tech-driven healthcare staffing platform!

Responsibilities include:

• Coach, mentor, and inspire a team of 3-5+ software engineers    
• Work closely with a small, dynamic team to build platform and infrastructure to support Nomad's growing marketplace and growing team
• Oversee the delivery of your team’s roadmap, removing blockers through conducting code reviews, pair programming, training, and contributing code as needed
• Define and implement best practices for clean, extensible code, scalable architecture, and platform stability    
• Own the architecture, frameworks, and toolkits used to build and maintain the platform    
• Collaborate across Product and Engineering to improve technical architecture, enhance the developer experience, and create a more robust infrastructure in a lean, agile organization  
• Partner with the Director of Engineering and VP of Engineering in building and growing the engineering team

Who Are You?    

• 2+ years of engineering management experience leading platform engineering teams in an agile environment      
• You strive to improve existing systems and processes  
• Experience building scalable, high-performance technology platforms that are accessible to hundreds of developers, and scalable to millions of users
• Full-stack development experience in Python  
• Deep understanding of databases and caching, API design and consumption, and third-party software integration
• Experience working with containerized distributed systems in a cloud environment, like Kubernetes on GCP
• Experience transitioning legacy systems and codebases to modern standards and capabilities 
• Strong drive to bring new products and ideas to market quickly, a willingness to experiment and take risks, and a desire to work in a tight-knit, dynamic, collaborative environment
