The Manager, Software Engineering manages the analysis, design, programming, debugging, modification, and delivery of software for commercial and end user applications. The Manager builds relationships and provides services to meet the needs of clients and takes responsibility for improving processes that are negatively affecting customer satisfaction. The Manager analyzes trends in technology and assesses the impact they have on the business providing solutions to address technology and business issues.Â
This position has corporate functional leadership obligations and is responsible for supervising hiring, career development, and day-to-day team and project management. The Manager will also be required to carry out other duties, projects, or activities as specified by their management.

This Manager will be managing two teams dedicated to Risk & Quality and Payer to Payer FHIR transactions. Each team is comprised of 3 software engineers and 1 dedicated quality engineer.

What you will be doing:Â
- Managing two teams dedicated to Risk & Quality and Payer to Payer FHIR transactions
- Leading daily stand ups
- Responsible for the corporate functional relationships of all team members that report to youÂ
- You will be working with both internal and external teams to deliver solutions based on the proposed roadmapÂ
- Leading overall delivery responsibilities and proactively working to reduce roadblocks the teams may encounterÂ
- Following and promoting Agile practices across multiple teamsÂ
- Ensuring that the teams participate in daily stand ups, are conducting retrospectives, code reviews, etc.Â
- Defining and tracking team metricsÂ
- Determining the percentage of each team’s time dedicated to new development, maintenance, etc.Â
- Monitoring efforts to eliminate duplicate design and promote solutions that reduce or eliminate technical debtÂ
- Analyzing trends in technology and assessing the impact of how the emerging technologies may impact product deliveryÂ
Requirements:Â
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field of study or the equivalent in documented work experience
- 8+ years of relevant technical and business experience in IT systems development management in a technology and/or health care environmentÂ
- 2+ years of experience managing teams and products in an Agile environmentÂ
- Background in software development
- Ability to establish and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external clients/vendorsÂ
- Proven understanding of the software development life cycleÂ
- Proven understanding of web development methodologies, application design, navigation, and information architectureÂ
- Proven understanding of data modeling, relational databases, data structures and designÂ
- Ability to launch and deliver multiple, concurrent IT projects on time and within budgetÂ
- FHIR experience is a plus
- Experience leading team in an AWS environment is a plus
- Cloud migration experience is a plus
- Project forecasting experience is a plus
- Extensive knowledge of the health care industry is a plus
- Hands on development experience is a plus
