Overview
The Manager, Solutions Engineering is a member of the Warehouse Solutions team. This position will work to develop comprehensive solutions to generate new business opportunities as well as to increase opportunities with existing customers.Â
ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Lead customer solutions by identifying and working on issues or projects of a diverse scope where analysis of a situation or data requires identification, judgment, and the selection of methods/techniques for obtaining a solutionÂ
- Analyze data, develop processes, engineer labor and storage requirements, specify MHE, develop detailed layouts in CAD, and build cost models for new business opportunitiesÂ
- Must understand best practices, advanced technologies, and automation capabilities and be able to apply them to solutionsÂ
- Support the development and standardization of modeling techniques to meet corporate strategic objectivesÂ
- Document technical solutions used to design the process and assist in writing business proposals, data-visualization charts, etc.Â
- Support sales with client-facing site visits and presentationsÂ
- Provide training and development to internal associatesÂ
- Assist in the development and achievement of strategic business process KPI’s and metricsÂ
- Lead or participate in cross functional teams to develop and maintain efficiencies utilizing Kaizen events and Lean Six Sigma methodologiesÂ
- Maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholdersÂ
- Understands and complies with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our businessÂ
QualificationsÂ
Education/ExperienceÂ
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline requiredÂ
- Must possess a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in warehousing and/or secondary packaging related disciplinesÂ
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesÂ
- Quantitative and financial modeling skillsÂ
- Critical thinking: analytical problem-solving skills with significant amount of informationÂ
- Creative thinking: dealing with imperfect information and ambiguityÂ
- Presentation skills: ability to inform and persuade internal and external stakeholders in relations to developed solutionsÂ
- Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization both internal and external to achieved desired resultsÂ
- Demonstrate a passion for cost and service level optimizationÂ
- Must possess strong capabilities in modeling software and techniques, including Microsoft Excel and Access with macro level experienceÂ
- Must have experience with facility layout and packaging line layout tools utilizing software such as AutoCADÂ
- Preferred exposure to varied warehouse structures including traditional bulk, high density, RF, pick to light, voice pick, etc.Â
- Preferred exposure to automation in operations designÂ
- Preferred familiarity with work measurement techniques such as MOST, MTM, or MODAPTSÂ
- Preferred familiarity with line balancing techniques and toolsÂ
- Ability to travel 10% to 15%Â
