Reporting into the Head of Strategic Partnerships, and as a member of the Strategy and Business Operations team at Carta, you will engage closely with internal partners across Strategy and Business Operations, Product, Engineering, Go-To-Market, and Delivery functions to help advance strategic prioritization and governance of key external strategic partners.
The team sits within the Office of the CEO, and assists our CEO and our executive team with crafting, scoping, and driving Carta’s vision as well as operationalizing key initiatives.Â
The Problems You’ll SolveAs Manager, Strategic Partnerships, you will work closely with the Head of Strategic Partnerships to build and implement Carta’s ecosystem and partnership strategy, including: Â
- Driving industry and company research and diligence to qualify and quantify opportunities and partners of interest to increase value within Carta’s ecosystem of VC-backed startups, venture capital investors, advisors, banks, and technology platformsÂ
- Working with the Head of Strategic Partnerships to help Carta structure, prioritize, execute, and manage partner decisions
- Engaging with existing and potential partners and maintaining strong relationships across verticals (SaaS, HR, fintech, insurance, capital markets, etc.)
- Structuring and executing partnership agreements
- Ensuring and/or establishing viable and mutually-agreed upon governance program to include regular business reviews, escalation protocols, collaborative investment, and executive alignment
- Capturing and reporting partner-related performance metrics and successes and applicable impact to Carta’s business objectives
You will expand Carta’s reach in the startup ecosystem by positioning our Company as an integral partner to software and financial services providers seeking to ease the friction of equity-related processes and transactions. You will find innovative solutions to drive new business opportunities and drive strategic partnerships with the most impactful players in our ecosystem.
About YouYou are intellectually creative, highly analytical, and enjoy working on complex business initiatives with unproven business models in the absence of perfect information, and can:Â
- Demonstrate an understanding of Carta’s business and future growth opportunities
- Develop theses on markets and products in Carta’s ecosystem while simultaneously maintaining an execution-focused mindsetÂ
- Source, negotiate, and execute various types of partnership structures and models, including integrated product partnerships, ecosystem strategic alliances, enterprise co-sell relationships, etc.Â
- Experience in enterprise software, SaaS, financial services, and/or fintech a plus
- Embrace a growth mindset, learning dynamically from internal and external partners as well as market conditions to support partner focus and prioritization
- Dream big, think creatively about solutions from a customer’s and partner’s perspective while staying grounded in business realities
