Job Description

The purpose of this role is to support the growing marketing needs of RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM) and execute a marketing strategy focused on the Wealth Management US (WM-US) advisor channel. This includes product content support, event marketing support, campaign management as well as delivering insights, and an engaging digital client experience. As a brand ambassador, this role contributes to building brand awareness and engagement with WM-US financial advisors and head office professionals and enables RBC GAM's sales team with the tools they need for timely and personalized client support. The scope includes working closely with Marketing leadership and Sales to develop a client-centered strategy that delivers a solutions-based approach and a superior brand experience.

Duties:

  • Acts as the key liaison among Marketing, Sales, Compliance, and the Investment Communications groups (e.g., Capabilities Specialists, etc.) to develop, execute, and measure marketing plans aligned with business initiatives focused on WM-US
  • Manages the relationship between RBC GAM's Marketing team and Sales, aligning on strategic goals and prioritizing to support business objectives and the engagement plan for the WM-US Channel
  • Brings an investment product expertise that translates into the ability to support both RBC GAM mutual funds and SMA strategies
  • Manages the conversion process of Canadian-produced content for the US audience and the compliance review process for marketing materials and/or digital deliverables
  • Leads the development and execution of marketing campaigns targeting WM-US advisors, including new product launches, analyzing industry trends to develop tactical campaigns, writing new or updating existing marketing collateral, managing multiple stakeholders' feedback and approvals, ensuring timeliness of key messages/data
  • Working closely with the events, marketing services and sales teams to manage brand marketing support for RBC GAM at all WM-US Channel planned virtual, hybrid, and in-person events. This can include but not limited to branding the event experience, promotion through various marketing tactics including social media and email campaigns where appropriate, invites, presentations, microsite, content, videos, onsite booths and displays and post-event communication
  • Manages building out the website for the business, adding new content and creating meaningful user experiences
  • Works closely with Marketing leadership to determine how the business can leverage sponsorships to build brand; this can include finding and assessing new sponsorship opportunities, collaborating with WM-US Channel Sales team to determine focus or themes, coordinate logistics, assign tickets, create collateral, and manage ROI
  • Supports the Sales team's advisor communication framework by maintaining and building out the marketing email library (Outlook templates or Marketing Cloud) to provide meaningful data and actionable insights
  • Maintains competitive research of the USA broker-dealer and asset management landscape

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advancing record of significant impact in a retail investment marketing role with an emphasis on broker-dealer financial advisor channel, marketing campaigns, and marketing collateral
  • Ability to create compelling communications and marketing campaigns that influence strategic direction and financial advisor action
  • Understanding of investment regulatory and compliance requirements in the US
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Deep investment product knowledge of mutual funds and SMA strategies
  • Understanding of creating effective digital client experiences using all the properties and tools at our disposal (website, social media, paid campaigns, email, Google Analytics, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Above average understanding of Microsoft Office tools
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build relationships at all levels of an organization
  • A conceptual thinker with an innovative mindset
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to analyze data and results against KPIs to suggest improvements and optimization

Highly Desired:

  • FINRA series 7, 63, 65 or 66.
  • Previous experience supporting a fund manufacturer.
