Job Description Summary
Develops, implements, and manages supply chain processes and solutions. Establishes key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning and forecasting; monitors planned vs. actual performance and presents results to senior management. Maintains communications with operations, procurement, logistics, and distribution. Creates integrated processes to streamline supply chains. Demonstrate, lead, and mentor a continuous improvement approach within Plant, Regional and Corporate Materials/SCM teams.
Accountable for the overall AAM Metal Forming Business Unit (MFBU) Logistics Supply Chain, including plant support, assist with critical shipments, CAPX shipments, scheduling and planning, as well as management of the overall Supply Chain Functions.
Job Description
- Key operational support contact for all MFBU plants. Works closely with plant Material Managers and supply chain team associates to ensure timely movement of inbound and outbound materials and dunnage.
- Achieves Supply Chain Management operational objectives by contributing materials management information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining materials management system improvements; implementing change.
- Leads the development, collecting and analyzing of key business information and trends that may impact the business cost or delivery performance.
- Lead the standardization and continuous improvement of business processes for the implementation of a global supply chain operating system.
- Work with Managers and Senior Leadership to define, measure, and deliver Key Performance Indicators.
- Demonstrate, lead, and mentor associates regarding continuous improvement within Plants, Regional and Corporate Materials/SCM teams.
- Implement supply chains solutions that support business strategies and continuous improvement initiatives to create overall supply chain freight savings.
- High level experience for coordination and planning of major Machinery and Capital Equipment (CAPX) moves within North America (ground) and International (air and ocean).
- Support the development of new processes and technology for continuous improvement of AAM materials management / SCM systems
- Provide mentorship to ME's and plant level associates prior to contacting AAM Global Trade Compliance for final document processing and approval. Work closely with Global Trade Compliance to ensure all requirements are met for flawless movement of international shipments.
Required Skills and Education
- College graduate or equivalent training, plus training such as that acquired in the first two or three years of college, technical or business school.
- Solid understanding and experience of U.S. Import / Export Customs functions.
- Must have basic knowledge to provide direction and support to AAM plants regarding required documentation for international shipments.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel spreadsheets, formulas and VLOOKUP functions, pivot tables and data analysis, PowerPoint graphs and charts.
Planning and organizational ability.
- Multi-tasking and prioritizing numerous job functions in a fast-paced environment.
- Bring associates together to create teams when multiple resources are required to complete projects.
- Strong analytical ability where problems are very unusual and extremely difficult.
- Preferred experience with Plex and Oracle Operating systems.
