Drive your career forward, with this opportunity as a Manager - Supply Continuity located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Manager - Supply Continuity will primarily oversee two groups of personnel - Operations Specialists and Contract Specialists. These 2 groups of ~8 procurement professionals are responsible for assuring continuity of supply for Allison's manufacturing plants and parts distribution centers across the globe. Operation Specialists are first line of responders for any supply interruption, and they act as liaisons between suppliers, supply chain function and procurement function. Contract Specialists are also deeply integrated with supply management and supply continuity processes, through contract administration and other associated work supporting Commodity Managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides escalation point for supply issues and liaisons between Supply Chain and Procurement functions. Engages commodity managers and/or supplier quality engineers to resolve longer term chronic issues, as needed.
- Provides delivery/expediting support to the plant/site during supplier issues (includes but not limited to participating in operations and supplier meetings, if required).
- Focuses on improving key plant metrics which are affected by purchasing, such as downtime due to supplier issues, supplier defects, premium freight, supplier capacity, new product metrics.
- Assures systems and records are compliant with Procurement procedures and policies, corporate delegation of authority.
- Manages contract administration process assuring data integrity within the procurement master data system.
- Responsibility for Procurement files, reports, records, and programs on common repositories and collaboration sites.
- Oversees the governance of the transactions that assure the accuracy of data within the master records. Assures that records are secure and accessible as required to the internal users and communicated to the supply base.
- Manages overall goals and sets direction for the team(s), including daily tasks and associated priorities; such that they are aligned with enterprise goals.
- Sets clear objectives and measures, monitors progress, and works towards results - accepts full accountability for results of the team, including managing and measuring internal metrics.
- Manages workflow processes in such a manner that the team operates more autonomously, with minimal direction, while leveraging strength/experience of diverse team members.
- Delegates both routine and important tasks, decisions, and projects and sets applicable priorities for the team.
- Accountable to work with the team to construct SMART goals and compelling development plans to hire, train, develop and retain highly effective team members.
- Demonstrates cross-functional organizational savviness; and deals comfortably with senior managers to present information or opportunities formally and informally.

Qualifications
Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree
Preferred Degrees: Bachelor's or Master's degrees in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, Mathematics, or Management
Experience
Required
- 5 or more years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- 3 or more years of supervision experience.

- Experience with production schedules, planning or expediting.
- Experience in the Procurement and/or Global Supply Chain field.
- Desire and ability to maintain a physical presence in the workplace.
Preferred
- Experience using an ERP solution (SAP) and related purchasing processes for entering orders, requisitions, problem solving, payment problems, tool orders, and miscellaneous reports as required.
- Experience working in an industrial / manufacturing environment.
Scope
- Manage the team and assignments, workload with a reasonable level of autonomy to the satisfaction of internal and external stakeholders (Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement and Suppliers).
- Perform variety of complex tasks with a reasonable scope of work and span of control expected of a mid-level manager position asks, decisions, and projects.
- Identifies and sets the priorities of the work group.
- Accountable to work with the team to construct compelling development plans and execute them.
- Develops systems or processes in such a manner that the team operates more autonomously, with minimal direction.
