What You’ll Do

As a sustainability manager, you will have a critical role in driving sustainability efforts within a multi-regional organization. You will ensure that sustainable practices are integrated into all aspects of business operations and report on the effectiveness and progress of such practices.

As a Semiconductor Sustainability Manager at Samsung, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects and work with stakeholders to understand customer requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly across cross-functional partners. Your projects will often span multiple continents, time zones and regions.

This role includes coordinating and working with all environmental, operational and supply chain teams on driving carbon reduction efforts across scope 1, 2, and 3, as well as leading ideation and incubation of new programs.

 Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose, CA headquarters 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.

  • You will manage the coordination across key internal stakeholders to define needs and identify solutions and will ultimately be responsible for driving measurable success in reducing Greenhouse Gas emissions.
  • You will work with customers to improve the speed and accuracy of our response to carbon emission questions, and keep records of requests and progress.
  • You will be tasked to lead efforts to create the external market environments necessary to drive decarbonization in a way that facilitates such goals and enables others to do so as well.
  • You will contribute to the development of mid- and long-term carbon reduction scenarios, planning, and goals, measurement, analytics .
  • You will track progress and proactively propose mitigation or correction actions.
  • Drive alignment of stakeholders on appropriate and cross-functional reduction efforts.
  • Attend cross-functional carbon reduction and net zero planning forums/working groups.
  • Partner with internal carbon reduction teams and external partners to identify, assess, and incubate new emissions reduction technologies and levers.
  • Develop templates and supporting materials for carbon reduction teams to support their roadmaps.
  • Ensure consistency and quality for annual and long-term goals and metrics for carbon reduction teams across the company.
  • Collaborate with partner teams on standard, reporting, and methodology development.

What You Bring

  • Bachelors and 10 years of experience, or an MS/MBA and 8 years of experience, or a PhD and 5 years of experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, MBA preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience in carbon reduction efforts, and GHG standards and accounting, or climate science, with a focus in Scope 3 emissions.
  • Experience in building and executing strategies for sustainability or environmental programs, with a focus on carbon reduction.
  • Experience with established carbon accounting frameworks (e.g., Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Scope1, 2 and 3 Guidance) and the top Net Zero frameworks (e.g., SBTi, ERI and  IPCC).
  • Experience with data collection, data management, and data-driven communication. Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analysis skills.

The pay range below is for all roles at this level across all US locations and functions. Individual pay rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location, as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education, and training. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance.

Base Pay Range
$108,000—$218,300 USD
