Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a qualified candidate to join the engineering leadership team as a Section Manager within the Test Design Solutions organization. This position is located at the Linthicum, MD campus and oversees the Technical Specialties section, reporting to the Director of Test Design Solutions.
The selected candidate will provide both functional and technical leadership for the section which consists of 75-100 engineers across 4-6 individual teams with direct reports consisting of senior technical contributors and managers. The individuals in this section work with and across technical disciplines to develop solutions to challenging test and verification needs across a wide variety of programs.
The leader of this organization must demonstrate the ability to lead both junior and experienced multi-disciplined teams. The selected candidate must also be able to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders, audiences, and environments. The selected candidate must have an in-depth understanding of technical planning and a broad understanding of electrical, mechanical, software and systems engineering, test and verification, cost development and execution, risk management, and supportability and effectiveness analysisfor total systems.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
The selected candidate will also be expected to perform productive (direct-charge) work on programs.It is anticipated that given the size of this section, the split between functional and program duties will be approximately 50/50, on average. The direct program work may include technical work, IPT leadership, consulting, proposal support, or any other appropriate technical function.

Salary Range: $163,200.00 - $244,800.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to basepay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO)for vacation and/orpersonal business.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- People leadership for an engineering organization of 75-100 team members, to include performance management, skill and career development, staffing, continuous improvement action planning, monitoring of compliance with processes and company values, and financial / budgetary collaboration and execution.
- Collaborating with peer Section Managers and the Director to develop a strategy for organizational growth and retention.
- Coordinating with peer Section Managers and interaction with business division counterparts to coordinate staffing and other program support (e.g. proposal reviews, design reviews, customer meetings).
- Providing oversight of execution to ensure timely and technically sound completion of milestones.
- Providing resources, input and content review for business development proposal content.
- Interfacing with external vendors and supply chain, which may require travel

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science STEM degree required and at least 10 years of related experience in engineering
- 5+ years of experience with development of test solutions, integration on systems or subsystems, or development of radar or electronic warfare systems.
- 3+ years of prior experience in people leadership
- Strong leadership qualities, including excellent communication and collaboration, team engagement, and organizational skills.
- Must be able to obtain DOD Secret and SAP clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Existing DOD Secret or Top Secret clearance
- Experience leading groups of 30+ in a functional, programmatic, or technical capacity.
- 3+ years prior functional management experience of an engineering organization.
