ABOUT THIS POSITION

In this role, the selected Manager will provide guidance and support to the Engineering staff, including design and support in our diverse, fast-paced, & growing environment. The Manager of Systems Engineering will also work with the Director and Delivery Management team to assure project priority and timeliness. This role provides plenty of opportunity for personal growth and development, while interacting with a positive, open team that is supportive of continued knowledge sharing and team advancement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Ensures system/application monitoring and alerting related to the SQL Server environment is being properly addressed
  • Participates in project planning and is responsible for ensuring that projects stay on track
  • Plays a key role in Crisis Management

  • Participates in deploying code to production environments
  • Identifies system and security shortcomings and works to correct them
  • Conducts quarterly performance reviews of team members
  • Researches new technologies to be introduced into the environment
  • Responsible for making key technical and business decisions related to the team's work

  • Works with the Business Product Owners to identify priorities for application development and enhancements; acquires resources for projects to fit the current and future needs of the Business

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Ability to run a team of 3+ members
  • Designs complex solutions with the overall product direction in mind
  • Functions as a contributor to project work, in addition to management duties
  • Manages his or her products' technical debt
  • Coaches all members of the team, and develops them into more senior/experienced resources

  • Able to plan and initiate a multi-quarter projects with a full project team
  • Manages key relationships with stakeholders across multiple departments
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience

Preferred Skills:

  • 6+ years' experience
  • 3+ years' experience as a Lead Engineer
  • Prior people leadership experience is preferred

  • Administration of SAN and fiber channel fabric
  • Windows Active Directory administration experience
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking
