Job Description
The primary function of the Manager, Systems Engineering is to lead and support automation, process, and engineering development in a fast-paced DNA synthesis environment. The Manager, Systems Engineering will collaborate with management, production, and marketing staff to detail project specifications and procedures. The ideal candidate should be able to set scientific and technical goals within the broad outlines provided by top management.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and direct technical projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities
- Direct a team of system engineers to support large integrated systems deployed for new product introduction and continuous process improvement projects
- Analyze technology and resource needs to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
- Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment.
- Technology transfer from lab to production
Qualifications:
- PhD. in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field & 4+ years relevant industry experience.
- Experience with biology instrumentation used for PCR, cell-based cloning and DNA purification
- Excellent scientific computation and data analysis capabilities
- Excellent communication and writing skills, very organized and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
