Manager, Systems Support Analyst

The Position

The System Support Analyst, Research Informatics will serve to support research specific software support service, in addition to assisting in deployment of new software systems to support research functions. The Support Analyst will report directly to the Director of Research Informatics. As Arrowhead rapidly develops its informatics infrastructure, there is a critical need for key personnel provide critical support for scientific software that are deployed. Software such as Electronic Laboratory Notebook, Laboratory Information Management Systems, and data management and capturing systems. The analyst will also be responsible for administration and training of new scientists to these software platforms as well as manage renewals and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Key responsibility will be to provide second level software support to applications deployed to research
• Will be the key contact and become system owners to maintain operations of research applications rolled out Including running projects to upgrade versions as well as hardware as needed
• Apply industry level Agile Project Management and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Practices to optimally deploy and administer new software solutions
• Manage vendors and or consultants and to be the Information Systems expert for owned systems
• The Analyst will attend meeting and conferences to keep abreast of developing technologies and make recommendations for growth and changes
• Participate and support deployment of new projects deploying new systems
• Manage the Research Informatics secondary support
• Build relationships with the Discovery & Translational Sciences team to become a trusted advisor and partner
• Work with Research Informatics and the greater IS & Informatics team to remove roadblocks and continue its growth as a high-performing team
• Manage Vendors and Consultants to optimally deliver Solutions to Arrowhead research in optimizing costs and timelines for projects

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in scientific field such as Biology or Chemistry, or Informatics
• 5 years of experience at minimum
• Experience working in the Life Sciences industry

Preferred:

• Experience leading a digital transformation of an R&D organization
• Experience leading Agile teams
• Certified Scrum Master and/or Product owner a plus

Compensation Description

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $135,000 - $165,000 annually.
