The Human Resources Strategic Capabilities Unit develops, retains, rewards and attracts talent needed for the business to attain strategic and operational goals.
Manager - Talent Development
This position is a key contributor to the Ball Aerospace talent and organizational development (T&OD) department.
What You'll Do:
- Provide leadership and functional direction to members of the Talent Development team by exhibiting behaviors aligned with the tenants of Ball's Inspire, Connect and Achieve (ICA) leadership model.
- Perform a variety of talent development activities in a lead role as needed. Talent Development portfolio includes:
- Ownership and facilitation of the diversity/inclusion programs
- Ownership and facilitation of talent development programs
- Design and deployment of self-service development tools and content
- Management of the leadership 360 developmental feedback tool and debrief
- Management of talent development related offerings and services
- Management of CEA program
- Oversight of New Hire Orientation
- Working with T&OD leadership, design and articulate a comprehensive talent development vision and strategy.
- Identify and evaluate related metrics and goals to continuously improve and elevate programs and offerings.
- Build and maintain stakeholder relationships across the company.
- Consult with business on needs and solutions for talent development.
- Manage day to day execution of services and offerings in talent development portfolio.
- Provide excellent project management skills to deliver business outcomes, identify risks and opportunities, prioritize, and manage staff.
- Provide clear direction for staff and proactively coach and develop direct reports.
- Coordinate short- and long-term programs, projects, and initiatives for talent development in collaboration with the team & organizational development areas.
- Manage talent development processes and tools.
- Provide clear, concise, and timely communication to the team, department, and stakeholders.
- Share and grow knowledge; research trends and remain current with talent development techniques and learning methods
- Meet criteria required to satisfy periodic internal and external audits.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You'll Need:
- BS/BA in related field plus 10 years or more related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Degree in Training, Business Administration, or Human Resources Management preferred.
- Master's in Organizational Development or Organizational Psychology is preferred.
- 10 or more years of experience in a progressive learning and talent development environment; broad HR experience is a plus.
- Preferred 2 or more years of people management or lead experience.
- Track record in leading and managing multiple, large scale leadership development programs, offerings, and events.
- Experience in integrating and building leadership development offerings and services.
- Excellent coaching and facilitation skills.
- Solid experience in designing and developing compelling, research-based leadership development content.
- Excellent writing, presentation, communication, influence, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization.
- Customer service orientation and commitment to quality, responsibility, high work standards and initiative.
- Detail oriented, highly motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Avid learner and actively seeks and implements feedback to continuously grow and develop self.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and training tools.
Flexible On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three or more days per work week. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

- Work is performed in an office environment.
Relocation for this position is not available.
Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: $124,500 - $172,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
