Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tax Planning and Contract Manager to join our team. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of tax compliance, strategic tax planning, and contract management activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing valuable insights to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of tax regulations, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven ability to manage contracts and vendor relationships effectively.
What will you be responsible for as part of this role?

Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely filing.

Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for optimization.

Proactively develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize financial efficiency.

Consult with external tax advisors and auditors to address inquiries and resolve complex tax issues.

Prepare detailed tax provisions and estimates for shareholders, providing accurate financial projections.

Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation and regulations, proactively assessing their impact on the company.

Review contracts with healthcare carriers to determine appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and analyze the financial implications.

Serve as the primary accounting representative for contract management, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of contract transactions.

Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with vendors and other parties, maximizing value and minimizing risk.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, fostering collaboration and resolving issues promptly.

Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with contract management policies and procedures.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide tax and accounting expertise for various projects and initiatives.

Develop and implement process improvements to streamline tax compliance and contract management activities.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Β
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

CPA or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.

5+ years of experience in tax preparation or compliance, tax planning, and/or contract management.

In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles

Advanced understanding and application of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel.

Strong accounting and financial analysis expertise and fluency in analyzing data

Ability to define problems and make recommendations which support the strategic direction of the organization

Ability to multi-task and to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work collaboratively and independently

Solid verbal and written communication and presentation skills
