Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tax Planning and Contract Manager to join our team. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of tax compliance, strategic tax planning, and contract management activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing valuable insights to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of tax regulations, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven ability to manage contracts and vendor relationships effectively.

What will you be responsible for as part of this role?

  • Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely filing.

  • Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for optimization.

  • Proactively develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize financial efficiency.

  • Consult with external tax advisors and auditors to address inquiries and resolve complex tax issues.

  • Prepare detailed tax provisions and estimates for shareholders, providing accurate financial projections.

  • Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation and regulations, proactively assessing their impact on the company.

  • Review contracts with healthcare carriers to determine appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and analyze the financial implications.

  • Serve as the primary accounting representative for contract management, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of contract transactions.

  • Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with vendors and other parties, maximizing value and minimizing risk.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, fostering collaboration and resolving issues promptly.

  • Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with contract management policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide tax and accounting expertise for various projects and initiatives.

  • Develop and implement process improvements to streamline tax compliance and contract management activities.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Β 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • CPA or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in tax preparation or compliance, tax planning, and/or contract management.

  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles

  • Advanced understanding and application of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel.

  • Strong accounting and financial analysis expertise and fluency in analyzing data

  • Ability to define problems and make recommendations which support the strategic direction of the organization

  • Ability to multi-task and to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work collaboratively and independently

  • Solid verbal and written communication and presentation skills

  • CPA with Big 4 public accounting experience

  • Previous work experience in senior healthcare industry
