Job Description

The Manager, Technical Learning, will lead efforts in the design and delivery of blended learning solutions that align with the organization's strategic talent and business objectives. This includes using innovative technologies to ensure curriculum is applicable and accessible to end users across the company, with a focus on store/field facing projects. This person will lead a team of learning designers/specialists and collaborate closely with Human Resources and other key business partners to develop innovative learning solutions that drive business results and evaluate effectiveness through performance metrics. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Learning.

  • Develop strategy and standards for team around learning design and delivery to create fully blended programs (instructor led, eLearning, simulations, videos, mobile, gamification, etc.)
  • Provide direction to instructional designers on strategic use of resources to ensure innovative, effective learning solutions are developed
  • Ensure a high quality, accessible, user-friendly experience for all associates in the learning design and delivery platform
  • Keep current in learning trends and work to incorporate best practices
  • Develop strong knowledge of the business and build relationships with key subject matter experts to ensure learning design addresses critical business needs and drives growth
  • Advise and consult partners across the company, helping them to identify the root problem and the best options for learning solutions
  • Manages large scale enterprise projects
  • Manage people to maximum potential through ongoing coaching and feedback
  • Work Status: Remote with Quarterly travel to Home Office

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ year's experience in instructional design, corporate training and/or applicable field experience
  • Experience in the development of eLearning content and materials, LMS platforms, website development, using online authoring tools, strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to establish partnerships with senior level business partners
  • Team leadership experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Experience in Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Captivate, Elucidat, Lectora, etc.

  • Highly creative and flexible approach to managing complex projects that cut across multiple business units
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen, ability to think strategically and critically, with a track record of success in partnering with business leaders
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently and develop in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts and processes using clear, simple language and visuals
  • Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices preferred
  • Builds collaborative, motivated teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate across teams and upward to leadership
