The Scoop:
The Manager oversees the Project Management Team. Responsible for planning and managing complex projects that includes development and enhancements to new and existing products and services. Leads and mentors the Project Team throughout various stages of the product/project development lifecycle, and may be required to lead, guide, mentor, train and develop more junior project managers. Defines and manages metrics to effectively measure the success of project deliverables. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Extent of supervision ranges from moderate, to minimal, to independent based upon demonstrated skill and performance level as defined for the position.

- Provides leadership in order to recruit, manage and retain the necessary resources to successfully perform the duties of the assigned work group(s)
- Manages work group(s) to achieve service commitments, including sustainable, measurable, accurate, reliable, and timely execution of project deliverables
- Provides day-to-day leadership and direction including, developing and administering policies, business processes, quality standards, measurement criteria, and operating budgets
- Sets high standards and encourages new ideas for improving organizational performance
- Takes appropriate corrective action as needed to promote optimal employee performance and maintain low staff turnover
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including senior management and Business for project definition including: resources, time estimates and prioritization
- Participate in Enterprise Project Prioritization (EPP) working meetings
- Guide the team for creating Scope definition, project plans, burndown and velocity charts, project progress reports, and other deliverables essential to project execution and control
- Establish, refine and manage internal processes and metrics to support project completion including successful software development, model development, and business projects
- Manage and communicate schedules and deadlines for the project management team
- Communicate with senior management and for project prioritization and management of resource schedules
- Make recommendations for and contribute to the continuing improvement of policies, procedures, equipment, training, business process reengineering, and goals of the organization
- Establish and maintain realistic timelines and milestones which promote an external competitive advantage and promote exceeding internal expectations
- Participate as a Project Manager in the department
- Duties include project management for the lifecycle of a project: scope and requirements definition and documentation, development or vendor evaluation, implementation and maintenance
- Develop a thorough understanding of software products and tools in order to accomplish job duties
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manages the IT Project Managers in the IT Services department
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Develops staff to meet the current and future needs of the organization
- Models and cultivates staff behaviors that achieve business success, including leadership skills, collaboration, accountability, and ownership
- Ensures that staff members are aware of business plan objectives, individual accountabilities, and the competencies critical to successful job performance
- Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
Education and/or Experience
For consideration candidates will need:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university
- Five (5) years to seven (7) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Five (5) to seven (7) years' experience in a product and/or software development in a project management role with planning, supervisory, and leadership responsibilities, with at least (2) to five (5) or more years of experience directly managing and mentoring professionals
- Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies with previous involvement in high-visibility projects
- Familiar with software development processes
- Experience in a Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), Pharmacy, healthcare, or electronic commerce environment preferred
- Leadership experience may be substituted with four (4) years of MedImpact experience plus an appropriate external leadership training program and internal mentorship with a seasoned leader (Dir ) for current active employees
Computer Skills
Strong proficiency with Jira, MS Office / Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Excel, Visio and Outlook to create complex documents, manage schedules, and analyze data. Working knowledge of key business applications such as SQL coding, Oracle forms, Golden 32, MedAccess, MedOptimize, SalesForce, and UNIX operating systems.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification and Scrum Master Certification preferred.
Travel
This position requires limited travel and attendance maybe required at various local training sessions and/or meetings.
