What you'll do
H&R Block is seeking an experienced Enterprise Document Management Technology Manager with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence expertise. In this role, you will lead a high-performing team of software/data engineers and analysts, serving as a vital link between IT development teams, enterprise architecture, and product teams. Your focus will be on translating document management vision into successful technology implementation, leveraging advanced technologies such as Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving the adoption of paperless initiatives, integrating 3rd/1st party data from tax and bank applications, and building an omnichannel document solution for an enriched client experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate existing document management systems and procedures to determine effectiveness and efficiency; identify and recommend improvements.
- Develop OCR models for Tax Documents, leveraging Machine Learning, to extract information from documents, enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of data extraction.
- Build and integrate solutions for securely and reliably deploying, managing, and scaling financial data exchange using partner solutions.
- Ensures the company complies with applicable laws and regulations regarding data security and document management.
- Research and recommend new document management products. Leading and participating in a wide variety of document related projects spanning the entire enterprise.
- Monitor data quality within document management products. Oversee data security and product enhancement.
- Communicates and consults with other teams when assessing, acquiring, or deploying new systems to ensure a smooth transition and minimal disruption.
- Relationship management with internal IT and product teams. Providing actionable insight to internal stakeholders.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

What you'll bring to the team
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Direct people management experience, including mentoring and managing data engineers.
- Proficient in Azure cloud fundamentals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and end-to-end quantitative thinking.
- Experience with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence technologies.
- Previous experience/expertise in developing AI/ML OCR models to extract information from documents is a plus.
- Strong stakeholder experience with the ability to influence decisions and confidently report data.
- Experience handling multiple projects while meeting project deadlines; project management experience is a plus.
- Ability to develop and maintain key vendor relationships.
