What you will be doing

Under the general direction of the Director, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), the Third-party Risk Management (TPRM) Manager supports the design, development, advancement, and facilitation of a collaborative third-party risk management program across all AmerisourceBergen business units and affiliates.

This role supports the build out of the TPRM framework to ensure a common enterprise approach for the governance, development, execution, and sustainability of the program. Responsible for establishing and enhancing an end-to-end framework to ensure that the company's third-party risks are properly identified, evaluated, mitigated, and monitored. The AB TPRM program employs a federated operating model, which leverages specialized due diligence capabilities across numerous risk groups including compliance, information security, privacy, finance, business resilience, and others. The TPRM Manager will need to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across these risk groups, along with sourcing, finance, and legal to drive a unified, consistent, and comprehensive approach to TPRM.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Effectively engages leaders and other team members across relevant stakeholder groups including compliance, information security, privacy, ESG, finance, business continuity, regulatory affairs, quality, sourcing, and legal, to collaborate on third-party risk management activities.
  • Facilitates governance activities to drive effective collaboration between TPRM stakeholders on issues management, risk mitigation, and program enhancements.
  • Contributes to and leads the design, development, and deployment of third-party risk management operating model and processes, integrating and aligning with existing stakeholder capabilities, processes, and systems.
  • Contributes to and leads the design, configuration, and deployment of TPRM tools and technology to support the execution of the TPRM operating model and workflow, enabling scalability across the business.
  • Evaluates the landscape of current processes and systems in place to support TPRM across the organization, identifying and pursuing opportunities to align, consolidate, or streamline processes.
  • Contributes to and leads the design, development, and enhancement of TPRM metrics, scorecards, and reports to support performance management, program improvements, and leadership reporting.
  • Prepares presentations and reports to stakeholders and senior leadership on TPRM program activities and third-party risks.
  • Evaluates TPRM from an enterprise perspective, identifying and addressing gaps or opportunities to improve the effectiveness of risk mitigation.
  • Considers change impacts to the business and other stakeholders in implementing enhancements to third-party risk management activities.
  • Identifies and pursues opportunities to improve business representatives' experiences by enhancing the simplicity, speed, and/or efficiency of TPRM activities.
  • Develops and executes change management activities to include communication, training, and stakeholder alignment to improve the adoption and success of TPRM initiatives.
  • Manages, develops, mentors, and evaluates the performance of more junior department team members to achieve department goals and objectives in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Domestic and International travel up to 25% may be required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What your background should look like

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of third-party risk management, ERM, and/or operational risk management experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in cross-functional roles within large, complex organizations, and/or management consulting experience.
  • Possesses industry-recognized certification that demonstrates expertise in core job competencies (e.g., CTPRP, CRMP, ARM, etc.) or achieves certification within 12 months.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong analytical, technical, and computer skills in application of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to communicate with customers, team members, and management; solid teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Disciplined program, project, and time management skills with the proven ability to work in a cross-functional, matrixed, and diverse workforce environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in remote, hybrid, and/or geographically dispersed environments, including multiple time-zones domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage initiatives, lead workstreams, and communicate effectively across multiple areas and levels of the organization while ensuring the security, confidentiality, and integrity of sensitive data.
  • A self-starter, highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment.
  • Detail orientated and disciplined to solve complex problems with the ability to resolve issues and drive solutions that create win-win situations.
  • Demonstrated experience in a large-scale environment preferably within a highly regulated industry (e.g., pharmaceutical, financial services, etc.).
  • Demonstrated program development experience, including designing processes, policies, standards, governance structure, and risk assessment methodologies, and facilitating risk management activities.
  • Good business planning, analytical, and conceptual skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to establish credibility and evangelize the program.
