We are seeking a Manager, Training & Adoption whohas overall responsibility and accountability to provide leadership and support for the effective and innovative development and delivery of learning activities and programming. In partnership with Product Management, HR and other key stakeholders, the Manager, Training & Adoption will provide oversight for the successful deployment of learning (design and delivery), including new hire and ongoing product training. This role will be responsible for leading the training team to discover, design and execute the desired learning programs that are continuously relevant for team members at all levels and across Envoy's business functions, as well as for Envoy's affiliated law firms. This role will further focus on continuously improving the efficiency and effectiveness of learning programs, as well as helping identify gaps in product adoption and usage, helping to create solutions to address those gaps, and communicating the value of the product to stakeholders. This role reports directly to our Vice President, Product.

As our successful Manager, Training & Adoption you will be required to:

  • Create a comprehensive learning strategy and roadmap for all new hires; gain buy-in from stakeholders across various business functions to drive inclusion and adoption
  • In partnership with the HR team, implement a new, modern new hire and onboarding strategy, approach, process, and protocol that reflects best practice, drives performance, and advances culture
  • Cultivate strong and collaborative relationships with business leadership and Envoy's affiliated law firms to identify and understand opportunities, key concerns, and create solutions to promote and drive a strong culture of trust and commitment and that inspires consensus and leads to efficient change and improved business practices and product adoption
  • Work with wider shared services teams to provide best in class strategic business partnering and responsive, quality training and development support to all employees by sharing knowledge and best practices and provision of expert advice/consultative guidance for learning programs to enable the organization to be more effective and consistent
  • Help Envoy's customers, including legal users, HR professionals, and employees, develop the necessary product knowledge and competencies to achieve success and drive product adoption
  • Champion an agile, iterative development process driven by design thinking, frequent end user input, and constant insight generation from data.
  • Leverage adult learning theory and instructional design in both formal and informal learning environments, as well as the linkage between design and learning evaluation/assessment.
  • Design for existing and evolving learning technologies including self-study, adaptive, simulations, mobile learning and tools, virtual classroom solutions, performance support, learning objects, etc., and the applicable development processes/timelines and appropriate uses of these technologies. Incorporate a wide range of learning modalities into learning approaches (i.e., live, virtual, digital, gamification, personalization, social).
  • Provide recommendations for solutions or process improvements to help increase product adoption and usage
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of business needs and communicating value driven learning propositions
  • Establish ORKs, KPIs, and success criteria to drive training team performance


To apply for this position, you will possess the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years experience in instructional design required
  • 5+ years experience software training or facilitation required
  • 5+ years' experience in fast-paced, tech-focused environment preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of adult learning theories, instructional design, and curriculum development; experience managing adult education, professional development, and continuing education programs in a variety of formats/modes
  • Knowledge of learning platforms & experience delivering learning in multiple learning modalities such as workshop, virtual, e-learning, simulation, and gamification required.
  • Experience with online learning technology (such as Articulate Storyline and/or Adobe Captivate) and required
  • Strong communication skills, and fluency in verbal and written English
  • Passionate: you have a passion for education and learning and possess in-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design/facilitation methods.
  • Excellent Communicator: you excel at written and verbal communication, group presentation, teaching skills, and being able to clearly articulate in a variety of ways to deliver key learnings.
  • Energetic and Creative: you are able to creatively problem solve on the spot. You will be asked questions during your sessions, so you need to be able to come up with creative solutions and understand the underlying issue to ensure participants fully grasp and can apply concepts in their daily product usage.
  • Focused on the customer: you are strongly committed to meeting the needs of external and internal customers by providing high-quality, timely, and thorough solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Proven experience working in a leading position in the intersection of technology, learning and innovation preferably with workflow-based products
  • Collaborate with and manage subject matter expert work (SMEs, committee members, etc.) to develop and deliver a diverse mix of learning content and programming in both live and other enduring formats (e.g. print, digital), using a variety of delivery methods
  • Hire, manage, mentor, evaluate, and develop all direct reports to assure cross-department collaboration and synergies; oversee the quality and quantity of work performed to optimize alignment with departmental and organizational goals and objectives
