Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $68,500.00 - $81,000.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

This position has oversight for the Transit and Adjustment lines of business. The Transit team is responsible for check processing and posting, reviewing mobile and ATM deposits for fraud, settlement with other trading partners, and ensuring accurate and timely end of day processing with the Federal Reserve. The Adjustment team processes all check related adjustments impacting both customers and internal general ledgers.

This position requires the ability to inspire, teach, and promote opportunities for continued growth in our leaders and high performing team members. Have a great understanding in how to provide excellent customer service through high quality processing, technology enhancements, improved process workflows and requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Lead, mentor and motivate team members to implement the department strategy and manage department workflow with guidance on departmental projects/issues, and provide coaching and development opportunities appropriate to each direct report's individual needs
  • Perform all necessary management functions, including hiring, evaluations, annual increase allocations and disciplinary action as required
  • Communicate decisions, priorities and relevant information to team members effectively
  • Support budget management, planning and expenditure
  • Serve as a leader and representative for Transit and Adjustments to various business partners and customers
  • Serve as an escalation contact to navigate, resolve, and communicate high customer impact issues and delays
  • Review and validate monthly department and other performance metrics as determined
  • Periodically review budget targets and other strategic metrics
  • Identify process improvements and build strategic initiatives that is cohesive amongst teams that share similar processes and procedures
  • Perform a periodic quality review surrounding deliverables, current initiatives and implementations
  • Collaborate with team members across various roles to identify trends and opportunities
  • Participate in vendor and project discussions surrounding product, line of business, and operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Strong knowledge of the banking operations field, including knowledge of best practices
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to apply discretion and sound judgement to efficiently and effectively solve problems
  • Ability to drive results and balance management of organizational risk and meeting goals of the business
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate team members and foster a positive team environment that gives way to collaboration and unified goals
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the company, clearly expressing ideas and concepts both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook

Education & Experience

  • Associate's degree in finance or accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 6+ years banking operations experience required
  • 3+ years leadership/supervisory experience required
  • Check workflow experience preferred

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $68,500 to $81,000 annually.
