Position Overview
The Manager, User Experience Design inspires great work, nurtures talent, and brings people together to meaningfully improve customers' lives through impactful experiences.
You will inspire and foster a team of UX Designers to deliver best-in-class experiences to customers managing their Autodesk solutions, leading account platform design standards for the organization with your strategic mindset, innovative approaches, proven leadership experience, and thoughtful approach to collaboration and execution on behalf of the customer.
This position reports to the Director of Experience Design for the Onboard, Use-Manage, Extend phases of the customer lifecycle within the Digital Experience & Customer Empowerment (DXC) organization. We ensure delivery of a seamless digital experience across the post-purchase phases of the customer lifecycle as customers onboard with their products, manage their accounts, and extend their relationships with Autodesk. Our team partners with product management, engineering, analytics, research, design systems, marketing, sales, customer success, and platform services and emerging technologies to achieve success together.

Responsibilities
- Build and manage a small but strong team of user experience design professionals that consistently delivers on their goals; provide coaching, mentorship, and career stewardship
- Help develop, champion, and execute on a holistic customer experience vision for managing Autodesk solutions, leading account design standards for all consumers of the platform across the company
- Influence and collaborate with design, engineering, and product management to ensure cohesive and connected experiences across our ecosystem
- Apply a systems-thinking approach working through technical complexities in close collaboration with engineering and cross-functional partners.
- Balance long-term vision with guidance and support of work currently in flight
- Establish ambitious team goals to deliver measurable benefits to customers alongside contributions to corporate and departmental priorities
- Ensure designers are armed with tools, plans and collaborators necessary to succeed and that projects are appropriately prioritized and staffed
- Promote a culture of rapid iteration based on insights gleaned from customer research and data analytics
- Demonstrate adaptability and champion a clear vision for better work outcomes
- Facilitate cross-functional design review of work in progress, provide feedback, encouragement, and inspiration
- Recruit and retain key talent across geographies
- Be a thought leader, representing innovative methods and approaches to your team and the Autodesk design community
- In partnership with other leaders, continually optimize key experiences for differentiation and scalability
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience related to UX design
- 2+ years of experience leading a team of designers, experience coaching, and/or mentoring designers
- Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills to influence outcomes, build relationships, and inspire key stakeholders across the organization to drive value
- Demonstrated innovative thought leadership skills to develop valuable customer experiences
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and impactfully prioritize
- Up-to-date expertise in human-centered design best practices
- Ability to absorb and process large amounts of customer data and synthesize into actionable recommendations
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong preference for previous experience on large enterprise admin account dashboards and digital payment systems.
- Bachelor's degree in interaction design or related field
- Experience designing for enterprise software, SaaS, cloud, and multi-channel experiences
- Experience with Agile software design methods
- Experience with Autodesk or comparable competitive products

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $131,200 and $212,300. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
