Manager/Sr. Manager, Sales Compensation (Remote Eligible)
Job Description
Smartsheet is seeking a Manager or Sr. Manager of Sales Compensation to own commissions planning and execution. You will be responsible for building and recommending commission plans that align with our company objectives.

You will report to our Director of Sales Strategy & Analytics located in our Bellevue, WA office, or you may work remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is a registered employer.
You Will:
- Build a high functioning, effective and collaborative team by driving the necessary actions to recruit, hire, onboard, and align staff members
- Manage projects that require cross-functional collaboration; set deadlines; assign responsibilities; monitor and summarize progress
- Lead the daily activities of the commission operations team and ensure ability to scale for continued growth
- Forecast commission payments, and present upcoming changes to Sales and Finance leadership.
- Serve as the trusted commissions advisor to help the business understand the impact of their business decisions, providing value added alternatives with accompanying analytics
- Align with goals and objectives of the Revenue Operations teams to manage the operational workflow by ensuring accurate, complete, and timely preparation and application of commissions and monthly financial close deliverables
- Manage the ongoing evaluation of commission operations policies, systems and tools
- Interface with company auditors during the SOX testing of commission operations audits and controls. Implement solutions where controls need to be enhanced and/or remediated
- Manage the annual Sales Compensation Design process through coordination with company leadership
- Create and deliver clear, concise, and engaging presentations on sales incentive plan design and outcomes to all levels of the organization
- Ensure accuracy of data and inputs
You Have:
- 7+ years sales compensation/commission experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration, or equivalent in experience
- Experience with Salesforce, CaptivateIQ, and/or other Sales Performance Management (SPM) applications
- Proven ability to build a successful team with increasing levels of responsibility and team coaching and development to scale operations at a growing company
- Proven track record of leading and collaborating cross-functionally to gain support and assistance from key stakeholders and organizations.
- Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and prior experience working with auditors on internal controls testing and procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion and personal judgment
