The Opportunity:

Verona Pharma is currently recruiting a Manager/Sr. Manager, Training to join our team, reporting to our Executive Director, Training. In the role of Manager/Sr. Manager, Training, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of training resources/materials as well as facilitating training sessions in live and virtual formats for Verona Pharma sales personnel. In addition, you will be collaborating with sales and marketing leadership on the creation and pull-through of messaging and tactics for ensifentrine.

Remote working and flexibility are important parts of our culture at Verona. However, we are looking for candidates based in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area as you will periodically be required to go into the Raleigh office for key meetings, training, and other activities as needed.

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong understanding of adult learning principles and possess a creative mindset. Additionally, you must be able to quickly adapt to a rapidly changing environment and be proactive in identifying training needs. The ability to collaborate effectively with other business areas is also needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate training sessions in both live and virtual environments with a focus on interactive and creative workshops.
  • Lead new-hire initial & advanced training phased learning across onboarding, home-study curriculums, live training programs, and National/Regional POA Meetings.
  • Design and lead engaging workshops for launch, national, and regional meetings.
  • Create a training pull-through program focused on knowledge retention to help sales personnel successfully meet sales objectives.
  • Design, develop, and implement engaging training content for ensifentrine in partnership with the Executive Director, Training.
  • Partner with training vendors on the development of training modules and workshops in preparation for the launch of ensifentrine.
  • Work closely with multiple internal key stakeholders across the Verona Pharma Commercial organization (including Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations, & Market Access)
  • Measure the effectiveness of training activities through surveys, exams, and other appropriate metrics.
  • Develop formal and informal presentations for new hire training, reinforcement training, and management status updates.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of (5) years of experience in the life sciences industry with a preferred background in field sales.
  • Two (2) years of home office or field-based training experience preferred.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and how to implement them in a training environment.
  • Experience with training in a virtual environment.
  • Experience managing and providing guidance to training vendors and other resource partners.
  • Practical experience working in a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • An ability to create training content using Office 365, Articulate 360, or another authoring tool.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage numerous projects of varying scope.
  • Excellent communication skills including listening and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to travel to conduct field observations and attend regional/national meetings.
  • Must be able to travel as needed; approximately 20-25%.
