Job Description
We are looking for an energetic and hardworking lawyer to join our Product Counsel Legal team. This individual will support the entire consumer credit life cycle, including the development of new products, underwriting, servicing, and collections. The best candidate will be flexible enough to engage in a wide range of projects and matters in support of Affirm's multiple strategic objectives.

What You'll Do
- Counsel Affirm business teams on product-development legal issues, from inception to product build and maintenance
- Provide strategic advice regarding state and federal lending and consumer protection laws
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments in consumer lending and servicing
- Be a trusted advisor and teammate, sharing legal and other expertise and support when needed
- Identify and evaluate business and legal risks with an eye towards creative problem-solving
- Draft terms and conditions, disclosures, review copy
What We Look For
- J.D. degree and a state bar member in good standing
- 8+ years of legal experience regarding federal and state consumer protection lending laws, product development, financial technology, and financial services
- In-house experience is preferred
- A quick learner who genuinely enjoys legal analysis and collaboration in a fast-paced environment - you take your work seriously, but don't take yourself too seriously
- Experience developing creative approaches to legal challenges while providing business-focused legal advice
- Proven experience as a key contributing member of a high performing team
- Inquisitive and proactive in identifying risks and proposing creative and effective solutions
- Strong project management, critical thinking, creativity, and analytical skills
- Someone focused on maintaining positive relationships and trust with cross-functional business partners

All full-time jobs at Affirm (excluding interns and apprentices) are tied to a transparent grade-based pay range taking location into account.
