This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Managing Counsel, Product in Ireland.
We are seeking a skilled and proactive legal professional to support product development in a dynamic, globally distributed environment. In this role, you will provide pragmatic legal guidance on AI, HRIS, and technology-driven products, ensuring compliance while enabling innovation. You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Privacy, and Security teams to translate complex regulations into actionable, shippable requirements. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional settings, balancing legal risk management with commercial realities. You will lead AI governance initiatives, draft product-specific legal frameworks, and contribute to the strategic legal operations across the organization. This role offers the opportunity to influence cutting-edge product development while shaping legal standards for emerging technologies.
Accountabilities:
- Provide end-to-end legal counsel on HRIS and AI/ML product features, including risk assessments, model documentation, and compliance controls.
- Draft and negotiate product terms, AI-specific clauses, and contractual agreements, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Privacy, and Security teams to embed legal review and risk mitigation into product workflows.
- Monitor global AI, data protection, and employment regulations, translating them into practical guidance for cross-functional teams.
- Manage external counsel for multi-jurisdictional issues, driving clear and actionable legal solutions.
- Deliver targeted enablement, including training, office hours, and documentation to support product teams.
- Lead initiatives in AI governance, including model inventory, risk classification, bias testing, and incident response alignment.
- Qualified lawyer with extensive experience in product counseling across multiple jurisdictions; additional bar memberships a plus.
- Significant exposure to technology products, preferably with HR-tech, HRIS, EOR/PEO, or payroll systems.
- Strong understanding of AI regulatory frameworks (EU AI Act, UK guidelines, US state/federal rules, Canada AIDA) and their intersection with data protection and employment transparency laws.
- Experience advising in-house and in fast-paced startup environments is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with fluency in English.
- Tech-savvy, familiar with collaboration and legal tools (e.g., Slack, Juro, Notion, Google Drive).
- Ability to work independently, manage complex legal matters, and provide practical solutions in an asynchronous, remote-first environment.

- Competitive salary in the range of $66,300—$149,150 USD, adjusted for location and experience.
