As our Managing Director, Capital Development, you will be in charge of building new relationships and cultivating existing ones within the institutional and family office investor community, educating investors about our platform’s mission and values and continuing to build on Redesign’s brand in the investor community.Â
In this highly visible role critical to Redesign’s platform, you will serve as a key source of new investor relationships and industry knowledge to support the launch and growth of Redesign’s operating companies.
You will report to and work with the Head of Capital Development and collaborate with Redesign leadership and stakeholders.Â
This position can be located at our New York City headquarters or be fully remote.Â
What you'll do:- Cultivate strong investor relationships and close on prospects for Redesign funds and investment opportunities
- Develop a thorough understanding of the existing investor base across Redesign and identify well-targeted leads for new investors
- Cultivate long-term relationships with key decision makers within each client/prospect organization and work in a consultative, solutions-based manner to drive results
- Communicate effectively with clients
- Develop and execute on a marketing plan for channel of coverage
- Educate and advise both internal and external stakeholders on Redesign investment offerings and investor landscape
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of venture capital strategies and the investor landscape
- Explain investment, legal, and technical aspects of the investment vehicles and portfolio to a diverse group of clients and prospects
- Interpret investor needs and to work with internal groups to address needs appropriately
- Contribute to product development and strategy for raising assets by collecting investor and market data in order to provide insights on existing and prospective strategies
- Expand on and continue to build the quality reputation of Redesign in the marketplace and with current and future investors
- Be a thought leader in terms of client relations and investor partnership
- Develop a plan and execute investor related events such as an Annual Investor Day and investor breakfasts/dinners
- Represent Redesign at the highest levels and in doing so build the global reputation
- Background
- 10+ years of experience in developing investor relationships through roles in investor relations, investment banking, business development, partnerships, equity sales and/or equity capital markets rolesÂ
- Must have exposure to and have an established network with investors of venture capital, with a preference for early stage companies
- Specialized/Technical Skills
- Ability to explain technical aspects of the portfolio to a diverse group of clients and prospects
- Strong working knowledge of venture capital investing landscape
- Ability to generate marketing assets for specific investment strategies, including compelling content for existing and prospective investors
