The Managing Director, Marketing will be able to collaborate and thrive in a global environment, provide innovative marketing and communication approaches and champion change.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Managing Director, Marketing reports directly to the Chief Marketing and Digital Transformation Officer and is responsible for leading, managing and directing all the marketing related activities. He/she will work with the cross-functional leadership team to identify and execute plays that will lead to growing revenues in existing and new markets by leveraging strong marketing to maximize the growth, development and return on investment of the organization's product portfolio today and in the future.

He/she will be responsible for development and driving strategic marketing initiatives that result in accelerated growth across the portfolio of business units.

More specifically, the Managing Director, Marketing and their team will contribute through management of following activities:

Marketing Strategy & Integrated Marketing

Demonstrate natural strategic mindset by utilizing market research, customer insights, competitive intelligence and internal business plans to create an understanding and insights into how marketing can drive growth within target markets, customer and prospect segments. Partner cross-functionally to build a deep understanding of the company's markets and identify gaps and growth opportunities. Leverage knowledge and business acumen to deploy marketing programs and initiatives to drive incremental sales in new go-to-market channels and partnership (including alliances, acquisitions, etc.) strategies based upon a strong understanding of key products, applications and industry trends impacting the business.

  • Design, direct and lead the company marketing strategy and programs by developing and implementing integrated programs that are aligned with overall growth objectives, which may include all elements of the marketing mix.
  • Build close alignment with sales and business unit leaders to ensure marketing's activities across portfolio are designed to support various demand generation and sales models including direct field sales, small and medium businesses, inside sales, e-commerce and distribution partnerships. Ensure marketing goals, programs and results are aligned and reflected within established business priorities. Focus metrics on commercial growth, differentiation, and engagement.
  • Oversee and enhance voice of customer in all marketing programs with strong "customer success" orientation.
  • Build and grow a high-performing, metrics-driven, demand generation organization that leverages analytics to drive revenue outcomes in all sales channels

Digital Go-to-Market

  • Be an advocate and thought leader for digital: From understanding and interpreting digital data to staying abreast of leading digital marketing trends and user behaviors, it is critical that this role embraces and builds strong digital marketing acumen across the marketing group.
  • Work cross-functionally to bring additional customer journey insights to the digital go-to-market focus areas, customer and market insights based on quantitative and qualitative research and growth planning discussions. Develop differentiated go-to-market strategies that support revenue growth
  • Bring digital thinking and capabilities to advance the effectiveness and productivity of the company's digital marketing programs and inside sales while developing new commercial marketing capabilities within existing marketing team.
  • Enhance every step of the customer journey by leveraging marketing automation tools and building personalization engines to target account/customer segments at scale

Talent Development & Leadership

  • Act as a role model for marketing, fostering, and promoting a mind-set and culture of marketing excellence in the segment. Set and build a marketing vision that is embraced throughout the organization, which will include establishing credibility at all levels; bringing best practice approaches; cultivating a high performing marketing organization and developing talent.
  • Own marketing talent development, with a focus on developing a robust succession pipeline.
  • Lead and partner cross-functionally in service of the customer journey by building trust, accountability and breaking down silos across the organization to lead beyond Marketing.

  • Cultivate strong relationships throughout the organization to drive a marketing strategy that resonates internally and externally.
  • Raise the profile of marketing. Become a key business partner to senior leadership, other functions and educate others in the organization as to the power of marketing, such that these leaders are compelled to draw from the function to ensure success.
  • Create and set a marketing vision and strategy to take it to the next level and begin executing on that vision.
  • Align marketing efforts with the organization's strategic priorities and link to business results.
  • Assess current team skill and structure; making changes as necessary to create meaningful outputs from an optimized, fully aligned, engaged, synchronized team.
  • Achieve marketing influenced revenue and customer growth targets.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate will be expected to be a high-energy, creative, and resourceful self-starter who demonstrates leadership skills and instincts. He/she must be a hands-on person who possesses the best combination of strategic thinking and drive to achieve tangible business results.

  • Must have a strong ability to influence across functions and build relationships with key individuals in different areas of the organization. The candidate should be able to function as an individual contributor at times as well as part of a team.
  • The successful candidate will have a keen ability to seek the ideas of multiple individuals in the organization and help facilitate the best path forward for the segment in strategic decisions. In addition, the successful candidate will have the following qualifications, experience, and skills:
  • B2B marketing experience with a large, global and highly matrixed organization is required.
  • Experience working with multiple sales channels and models (field sales, inside sales, distribution, eCommerce) is required.
  • Has track record of successfully leading digital marketing functions and delivering top results.
  • High levels of conceptual thinking, problem structuring and analysis, cross functional team leadership, and the ability to work across organizational boundaries.
  • Managerial courage and communication skills to effectively and constructively challenge and influence and guide senior leaders and experts in the organization.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Science or Engineering is required.

For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
