West Monroe has an immediate opportunity for a Healthcare Managing Director. This roll will focus on building the firm’s healthcare offerings and delivering business and technology consulting solutions with a focus on payer organizations. Working alongside our National Healthcare Practice Leaders, this role entails significant responsibility in developing new business, managing client relationships at executive levels, and providing hands-on guidance and direction as well as oversight to project teams. Most importantly, candidates should be passionate about what they do and enjoy a fun, entrepreneurial environment.  This Managing Director position will also play a key leadership role on our national healthcare team.

What will you be doing?
Managing Directors at West Monroe have three main areas of responsibility within Business Development, Practice Development, and Client Delivery.Â
Client DevelopmentÂ
- Cultivate new and existing client business development opportunities for the Healthcare Practice with a focus on medical and ancillary insurersÂ
- Significant generation of prospecting/networking activities (events, meetings, phone calls, emails) in the pursuit of new client acquisition and brand awarenessÂ
- Originate business development opportunities and manage the sales cycle with prospective clientsÂ
- Actively leverage a previously built professional network and affiliate network in the local communityÂ
- Develop key accounts with recurring revenueÂ
- Actively participate in relevant local business and industry organizationsÂ
- Exhibit an excellent understanding of client issues and how to apply the appropriate West Monroe resources to convert identified issues into consulting opportunities and proposalsÂ
- Lead the development of proposals, work plans, pricing estimates, and risk assessments for potential projectsÂ
- Effectively partner with the Business Development and Marketing teams to lead and drive marketing campaignsÂ
​Practice DevelopmentÂ
- Collaborate with Healthcare leadership to build the healthcare practice in alignment with practice goals (headcount, financials, clients)Â
- Create effective go-to-market strategies while driving the development/enhancement of WMP’s Healthcare Practice methodologies, best practices, and approaches to client deliveryÂ
- Lead, mentor, and grow consultants and actively participate in the performance management processÂ
- Participate actively in the recruiting process for additional practice managers and consultantsÂ
- Display an entrepreneurial desire and selflessness to give your time, energy, and passion to growing the firms culture and our people both inside and outside of office hoursÂ
- Manage practice financials in accordance with healthcare practice budgetsÂ
Client DeliveryÂ
- Serve as engagement leadership and quality assurance across a client portfolioÂ
- Provide value via consulting engagements and sharing of meaningful thought leadershipÂ
- Participate and lead engagements by communicating and reporting project status to C-level executives and IT management, including budget, risks, issues, etc.Â
- Mentor and manage teams of younger consultants to ensure quality of delivery and to keep projects on time and budgetÂ
- Respond to client requests for immediate issues while also being able to take on the accountability of driving projects to completion; serve as the point of escalationÂ
- Analyze each client's specific request and determine the underlying issue and recommend appropriate solutionsÂ
Qualifications:Â
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience requiredÂ
- Minimum of 12+ years of professional services consulting experienceÂ
- Strong business development and an active professional network of relevant executive-level contacts in the local market (east coast, medical and ancillary plans)Â
- 10+ years of hands-on experience leading business and technology strategy projects and​experience with complex business systems integration and technology transformation, specifically within health insurance companiesÂ
- Membership and visibility in relevant professional organizationsÂ
- Strong program and project management methodology background, including strategic planning and analysis, schedule, scope, issue and risk management experience, change managementÂ
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skillsÂ
- Strong communication skills to be able to work with clients and comfortably present to C-level executivesÂ

- Ability to be in-person three days a week is requiredÂ

Managing Directors at West Monroe are expected to be in-person three days a week. This can include being present at client sites, in the market, or in-office for internal collaboration. There is flexibility and an understanding that schedules ebb and flow, but a core belief is that when we are together with our people and our clients, we build stronger relationships and are better equipped to sell and deliver value.Â
Based on pay transparency guidelines, a reasonable expectation for the salary range for this role is listed below. Information on our competitive total rewards package, including our bonus structure and benefits is here. Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.​ Employees in proximity of our Seattle, Washington DC, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco offices will have a geographic premium applied to this salary scale.Â
Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, purchase shares from our employee stock ownership program and be eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use after successful completion of one year of employment.​Â
