Managing Director, Strategic Brand Partnerships

Why it matters: You will lead complex brand strategy ideation by creating and executing franchise partnership opportunities that service the audience and our client partners. You will also:

• Work with new and existing strategic clients
• Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including across business and product lines
• Own key recommendations of how this scope will grow across the entirety of our strategic brand partnerships team
• Manage a brand strategist to help further define and align these opportunities
• Serve as a thought partner against large integrated campaign proposals
• Report directly to the SVP of Client Partnerships and Subscriptions

Details: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for Axios’ mission. This is a high-energy role that requires superior communication skills, an ability to understand partner business priorities and develop creative solutions. Ideal candidates will also have the following skills:

• 10+ years’ experience in sales, specifically in the digital media/news industry 
• Established relationships with key agencies and brands
• In-depth knowledge of digital media, online marketing technology, and Axios’ competitive landscape
• Comfortable with a mix of outbound sales strategy as well as the nurturing of inbound leads and existing client relationships
• Management experience and confidence operating in a player-coach model
• Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills and the willingness to proactively partner with Axios Brand Studio and events team
