How you will make an impact:

• Manage and mentor a team of in-house editors
• Help develop, define and implement efficiency-enhancing processes
• Help evolve our content quality to improve rank, traffic and readability
• Manage a large team of external freelancers
• Ensure content-creation workflows progress smoothly
• Help our team continue to build and increase our content production pace
• Assign and edit content as needed
• Along with the director of content, serve as the gatekeeper for content quality by performing a final quality review of every piece of content we create
• Participate in hiring and training new editorial employees, and freelance writers
• Spearhead a career development program for your direct reports
• With the director of content, ideate, implement, monitor and communicate team KPIs

Who you are:

• Have at least five years of experience creating personal finance content (experience with insurance content is a definite plus)
• Have managed or co-managed editors, editorial assistants, copy editors and freelancers (experience developing young talent is a plus)
• Have a copy editing background or a copy editor’s attention to detail
• Know SEO best practices and can implement them to optimize new and existing content
• Are empathetic to the key pain points that drive consumers to insurance shop, and can edit copy to communicate that empathy to readers
• Have zero tolerance for poorly written, incomplete, unoptimized or uninteresting copy, and know exactly how to fix those problems when you encounter them
