Manual QA Analyst

QA Engineers should have 4+ years of manual QA experience and love consumer social software. As the 7th member of the Quality Engineering team, you will own end-to-end testing of key Raya features and experiments. An excellent candidate will have a passion for quality and express creative thought-leadership in all aspects of testing. Working remotely or from our Los Angeles headquarters, you’ll collaborate with our entire engineering organization to come up with testing strategies and plans, as well as monitoring app performance to ensure smooth delivery of new features and updates.

This person will join the QA team at the early stages of the company and will have all the excitement and accountability that comes from joining a fast growing, well funded startup!

Responsibilities

• Working in an agile environment, attending daily standup meetings
• Drive Quality Engineering efforts for internal and external product releases
• Prioritize and advocate for top-tier user experiences
• Design test strategy for existing and new features/experiments for both Raya and Places, by Raya
• Drive incident prioritization 
• Work hand-in-hand with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Client and Server)
• Work in an as needed basis with Data, Community and Support teams
• Participate in release processes for the entire company
• Host and manage internal company test sessions and dogfooding
• Assist triage team with debugging support tickets

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in modern software development environments, with a track record of delivering scalable and maintainable systems
• Navigate both Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Test Life Cycle (STLC) paradigms 
• Experience with agile methodologies all development phases
• Eagerness to embrace Raya's QA process, ethos and practices 
• Strong collaborative instincts, emphasizing open communication, transparency, and cross-team interaction
• Industry experience testing applications for a variety of smartphones and tablets
• Ability to isolate defects effectively, as well as provide specific conditions for reproducibility
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Passion for quality in the mobile space
• Flexible, self starter who is able to push back, as needed
